Just watched a movie at Netflix….the movie said the Germans did the flood not the allies.

The video fails to mention the fact that the only ones adversely affected by the inundation were the civilians. The German positions were dug in on the dikes themselves, remained above water, and were able to be resupplied and communicate with each other over the high ground. In short, it was a total waste. This sad failure of allied strategy is probably one of the reasons this most difficult campaign of the war in the west is largely ignored in the histories.
