Plot twist, the same people that drafted all of these new commandments caused and perpetrated WW3.

And, far from the prying eyes of the majority of survivors the small group of elite people can have as many children as they want and raise them with the confiscated resources of the oppressed masses and will have access to weapons and armed security inside of their fortresses with no restrictions on use of electricity, heat, and water.

And there I stood, my ears fixated on the voices on the radio. Voices I never heard from a place I had never been. I survived the Civil War, the Nuclear War, the Fallout. And my ears listened to the words - new to the young and yet so familiar to the old - as I stared upon the tree in what used to be my front yard. And could not escape my thoughts. And how in my youth I found such freedom and love under the shade of that tree. How I felt a sense of liberation when I would return from college and see that tree in my front yard. How that tree shaded my sisters and I from the rain and the sun! Where our father, in our poverty, took our mother for a picnic anniversary to show her in the only way he could find that his heart only knew peace found in her eyes. And then I remembered the words whispered to me by crazy man, a good man, but now a very dead man. Words that were spoken by this man, but not divined by this man. A man that saved my life time and time again during my time in the militia. And I can not escape those words now. *silent stare* My tree looks thirsty. And it seems the blood of tyrants is in abundance.

I disagree with the underlying premise. Destroying 70% of population and cities won't result in One World Government, but a million little dictatorships and warlords. All the efficiency of modern society would be lost in a nuclear war. With that lose it would be the struggle just for food and survival, that isn't the path to peace but continual warfare. I think that is why Orwell had 3 countries ALWAYS at war.

I thought this was a "new beginning"? So then how did this group manage to avoid "beginning" with nothing like everyone else if they had nothing to do with what happened?

I felt uncomfortable, listening to this one, only because the idea of a one world government is scary because it goes against human nature of wanting to do something for else sells, despite being told not to. In the other sense that I had I like the idea as we don’t see a lot of mock scenarios that explore this coming into affect. Some of the new Commandments will work for a time, eventually they’ll stop working like for example not owning a property. But still many follow this because the world of the people that live in this universe they once knew is gone. Who knows where the story will take us next or maybe this is the end? or they could be some parts we don’t know about yet who knows. We’ll just have to wait and see. and lastly another great piece of work by you. also for those reading this long comment please understand this is just my opinion and if you have a completely different one that’s fine
@thephotoandthestory4 ай бұрын
Pretty much on point. I'm a Catholic and one of the things I have learned is that the Old and New Testaments reveal and point to each other. Ex. the Fall of Man is the means of Christ's redemption of fallen man, Adam and Eve eat of the figurative (or literal) tree bringing spiritual death while Christ hangs upon one bringing restoration. The Book of Jonah points to the Three days in the tomb. The Book of Revelation is prefigured in the Book of Daniel among others. Although I am no expert, these give me hope that history will be written in the mysterious permissive will of God to reveal His glory. One story I wish I knew more of is that of the Tower of Babel in Genesis, but on the face of it, it seems to parallel the failure of man's big plans, including globalism. Man by his fallen nature is tribalistic. Anthropologists and evolutionary psychologists point out how fractious we are, even if we don't know it. The people at Babel tried to have, among other things, one tongue, but for that, and other things, God confounded them, perhaps because of their arrogance and perhaps because He loves all nations. Globalism, as evinced in this nightmare scenario, will always fail because humans will always be tribalistic and nations will always be a thing. God's law reigning in our hearts is what could keep peace or weather the storms and problems of sustainability, but instead we take a shortcut, and in this case, it is globalism, which may succeed in killing untold people but will never succeed in crushing the spark of humanity because it is the product of man's arrogance, not his recognition that he is reliant on God for his life. I do believe globalism will fail and God will prevail because one force is made of arrogance and the other on the uncaused cause of all that exists or could ever exist. I do fear the coming years. My wife and I have two special needs boys and are now in our middle age. I don't fear for their souls but mine. I hope I can pray, love Jesus a fraction of his love for us, and keep moving up the mountain towards home intended for everyone. Nevertheless, scary times.

What amount of work earns me some food and what amount of work can get me a gaming system? If they take away dr*gs and alc*hol then what are they going to put in its place when a person has down time? What's the point of even living if you can't create some unapproved art, stories, or a new innovation and get something for it?
