No, it wasn't. THQ was just the publisher. Yukes were the developers of the actual gameplay, and they left in 2018. Visual Concepts are the current developers.

I mean, to be fair, they don't really need to change it. It works fine and isn't visually jarring. Reanimating it would more be a quality of life thing. Plus, what else would they do? They'd need to make a similar animation so it's instant.

2K is so lazy! Why can’t they have moving animation on the minitrons of classic arenas? When wrestlers would wrestle you would see the animations/graphics on stage showing the logo and then doing cool CGI FX. Now it’s just frozen on screen even in the classic arenas which is t even right. The messed up the fist arena the side bar never played entrance videos and also would move it had its own animation it would switch between (SMACK,DOWN,!) so lazy such a small detail

I think that 2k14 had alot more features and game modes but overall, 2k23 has better graphics, more refined gameplay and IMO is the better game but that’s just my two cents 🪙 🪙

Steel steps are working in wwe 2k14 like opponents body contact with the steps in the ring in wwe 2k14. On the other hand, wwe 2k23 sucks at that. Steel steps don't even contact at all like it's running away

2K23 actually has better ragdolls then 2K14 but not better weapon physics, 2K14 has way better weapon detection and stuff

Visual Concepts will never match the fun factor of wrestling games that Yukes was able to deliver. 2K14 > 2K23

The issue with 2K23 is that everything is agonisingly slow - for example the pod selection, it's like 4 seconds in 2k14 from the timer hitting 0 to the wrestler being out of the pod, but in 2k23 it's 10 seconds. It's wasting the player's time in the name of 'realism'

Exactly. Some things should be sacrificed to keep the gameplay fun. Wrestling isn't realistic anyway, so going with a simulated direction is a mistake.

I get what you mean but also disagree. The pod selection taking longer, I don't think, makes that much of a difference since you need to beat everyone to win. Unless you're blasting through people, you've probably not pinned anyone by the time the next person comes out.
