So to give you some context what basically happened with the demise of the 2K 20 game was that the company Ukes who was working on the graphics halfway through apparently dropped out because their contract was due to expire. It happened right in the middle of the process of making the game that their CEO didn't agree to WWE's terms so when they dropped out WWE had to find a new company to work on the graphics which means they had to start from scratch, and I guessed from the fact the 2K was pressuring them to release the game in the same time frame of October they had to put something out whether it was a good product or not or else they may have lost their deal with 2K. So I kinda understand WWE's place as someone who is going to school for gaming design who knows how much effort goes into making a game such as WWE 2K. Anyways 2K did respond immediately about the issues and all the glitches have since been fixed. I did buy the Smackdown Edition solely because it came with a plaque signed by Kurt Angle and a piece of the 2008 Smackdown ring apron.

I got the deluxe version of the game on sale for $17 about 2 weeks ago, I avoided it bc of these glitches as well, only WWE game I never bought on release, I only had 1 glitch, which was a 3 second glitch during an entrance, everything else has been flawless

To be fair, Visual Concepts was left with this game engine cause Yukes left in the middle of development and they did the best they could to meet their deadline. They've patched it up as much as they can with glitches. Hence why they took a year off and there was no 2k21 for WWE. Hopefully this years game will be much improved since this travesty

they did fix majority of them, but the game still sucks hardcore, good amount of the moves aren't coded correctly, and you're character will just fall to the ground not connecting the move that's SUPPOSED to hit. Also, before patch you would get mad blue screens and crashes as well, it was unplayable, you couldn't even watch entrances because they'd crash your game, and the entrance motions, almost everybody glitches on the staircase once they go up to enter the ring. Even now the game still sucks and will crash sometimes as well, i don't even know anybody who still supports it, cause it sucks. It still crashes at times, doing universe mode with rivalries still glitches out sometimes and the wrong people will be on the wrong team or on the wrong receiving end lol. That's not even mentioning how you can still sometimes freeze when doing a move, and you can't get out of it, you're stuck. And the one that really feckin annoys me is the pin freeze, you'll pin someone and the ref will go to count but then he freezes, and you're stuck in the pin-animation and not even you can break it up or your partner, it's game over at that point. Everyone complained about this and 2k still didn't do much to fix it. Which is why they cancelled 2k21 because they weren't ready and people were not about to play 21 if 2k20 was this bad. So they're taking an extra year to make a new WWE2k game, which will be 2k22. I have my doubts honestly. 2k sucks so much lol. We'll see. I just enjoyed the simulation wrestling you could do in universe, make your own shows/brands, add superstars or custom superstars and make them wrestle each other for championships and etc. But i'm not about to pay another 60 dollars if it's gonna be like this again.

Paid $100 for this game’s deluxe edition. The story behind this one is that in the process of making this game, Visual Concepts, who were their partners forever, dropped out. Instead of cancelling or pushing the release date back, they pushed forward and released the game. They told the 2K content creators who flew out to test the game that they knew there were issues, but they would have to patch the fixes in because they ran out of time. There have been about nine patches and while the game has gotten slightly better, it’s still shit. The game will randomly crash and the glitches are uncontrollable. I have to say, the games before it weren’t anywhere near this bad. Graphically, mechanically, conceptually. 2K19 was a beautiful looking game and the roster was deep and the gameplay was smooth. They’re pushing the annual release out for another year, with an arcade-like game releasing this year, so if there was a chance you would try any of the WWE 2K games, I’d recommend 2K19. But if you haven’t played any since the 90s, seek out a PS2 and play SmackDown! Here Comes The Pain from 2003
