WWE 2K24: $400 FOR THE ROCK?! TESTING IF THIS IS REAL! 🤯

It's being reported via Reddit that one user spent $400 in WWE 2K24's MyFaction mode to unlock the new Rock '24 model with his updated arm tattoo and Roman Reigns wearing his 1000 Days tracksuit, but is this real? Does it really cost this much to unlock these new models?
To find out the answer I decided to start opening the Punches and Promos Card Packs to see how long it took to get the cards needed, and how much this really costs...
☆ How To Unlock Roman Reigns 1000 Days Tracksuit ☆
Players need to obtain the Amethyst Sami Zayn card from Punches & Promos card packs and use the card to complete the Boss Fight Live event.
☆ How To Unlock The Rock '24 ☆
Players need to complete a collection reward featuring 5 cards from the Punches & Promos card packs.
These cards include Amethyst Kevin Owens, Amethyst Sami Zayn, and 3 Ruby Cards featuring Bray Wyatt, The Miz & Jive Owens.

Some completionists have an irritation and annoyance seeing that, feeling like they haven't unlocked everything in the game yet. It's why the argument of having DLC or in this case, stuff like MyFaction cards keeping content that is already in the disc on a paywall despite having paid so much for a game already, is still a topic of discussion to this day.

As someone who has put HUNDREDS of hours of time into MyFaction, they really overdid it this year. Everything is way too expensive and the grind isn’t worth it anymore. To put it in context, if I want to get just one Deluxe pack to try and get these Amethyst cards, I need to play a minimum of 27 matches to get the roughly 20k MFP to buy a single pack. For a 3% chance of pulling an Amethyst card… leaving 97% for not just a non-Amethyst card but very likely a card from the low level Superstars Series 1 collection so it’s more often than not a waste of time. Either bump up the rewards or bring prices down. This will put off what remaining players this mode has left.

So i was using WM Undertaker 14' and the mofo was reversing EVERYTHING. I'd top rope chokeslam and tombstone this mofo and he'd kick out everytime. Then, i switched to Omos (his pin escape is higher than Taker's) and i started winning AND completing the objectives (his taunts are faster and quicker standing heavy attacks). I used Taker 1 more time. Did his taunts, all the objectives and use his Super Leaping Tombstone finisher... ANDRE... STAYED... DOWN!!! But that challenge vs Pink Diamond Rock tho...

Only way to fix this a little better is by introducing the system in other games. Where if you open a pack, that card will not be appearing in your next pack again until you completed the whole collection. No duplicates. Perhaps making the rare ones a little harder but still would be a better option than a fully random generator

I unlocked the Hulk Hogan by buying the card I needed and would do the same for other persona cards. Though, seeing that there's a search function for persona cards makes me think they'll sell them there anyway, but probably towards the end of this games lifecycle... I miss the days when you could just unlock things in game and at worst yoou bought the dlc for extra wrestlers. Scummiest thing is they have the locked superstars on the selection page, making people like me feel the FOMO for locked slots.

THE punches and promos arent giving the correct amount for duplicates. They are only giving 750 MFP for duplicate emerald, sapphire, ruby and amethyst Punches & Promos cards. When the duplicate emerald should be 4500, sapphire 7500 and ruby 11250 MFP. When you get 2500 MFP for Superstar series 1 gold duplicates.

I have been saying for the longest: they need to implement the auction house like NBA 2K. That way any duplicates in packs have real value and players could grind for MFP.

I have all the cards. It’s just jive Owens is the only card I don’t have and I still don’t have it after I spent my money trying to unlock the cards. I just gotta keep going or wait till the expires in a couple days and do it just like you said with Ichibon, Hulk Hogan or after when it expires, then it will be with all the other cards

I really don't see why they can't just add these to the roster with the update instead of screwing the entire player base they have left. Maybe they should spend more time fixing their online servers. I can't even play with my friends because the invite system is broke and it'll randomly disconnect us from the match.

In Australia (AUD if unfamiliar with the currency exchange term), they charge $164.95 for 400,000 VC, which is $329.90 for 800,000 VC so yes this is Highway Robbery and why "Packs" should be illegal and considered gambling. I agree that the card should be placed in the store and you earn the MFP to purchase.

This is so damn annoying I've been waiting years for an updated rock just for them to do this... all they had to do was update his tattoo to put in the base game I swear on all that is holy this game always pisses me off. I refused for the longest time to download a nodded version on CC in hope they would update the rock.

I've opened 5 Punches & Promos Deluxe packs. 2 of them didn't have any P&P cards in them and the other 3 just had Nickolas Mann. They need to make that Roman card available again after the live event ends, because that event only lasts a few days and there's no way people like me who can't afford to throw money at the game can get it.

The problem with these awful practices is that if 2K sees just a slight revenue increase from people buying currency for these timed events, there's no reason to scratch the mode or make it fair. I haven't spent a single dime on MyFaction since its introduction, but apparently a healthy number does since they insist on the mode being a focal point.

I never ever bother with my faction.. till this past weekend I bought the legend hulk hogan card to unlock the “ figure hulk hogan” and I did it I will spend all the money to unlock one character 🤦‍♂️
