In this video we're taking a look at all of the announced matches for the 2K Showcase of the Immortals and sharing the history of each match, along with details of the content you can expect as a part of it.
As some of the matches announced for the WWE 2K24 Showcase have appeared in previous games like WWE 2K14's 30 Years of WrestleMania, or WWE 2K16's Stone Cold Steve Austin Showcase we also have some comparisons of how the different versions of the match were portrayed.

I'm not saying 2K games are all bad, they do have some great features, but you can easily feel less effort put into the games, or probably effort being put into the wrong features. That moment defined the unthinkable and made Shawn the huge star he is today. I was looking forward to this match big time! 2K did The Undertaker dirty. WM 36 should have had Taker VS Styles in the Boneyard match. Except we got the firefly fun house match which was NOT a match. Also Taker VS Kane WM14, Taker VS Batista WM23, Taker VS Edge WM24, Taker VS HBK WM26, Taker VS HHH WM27-28. Actually they even missed WMX8 period. I think The Undertaker should have a game based on his whole career. Mortal Kombat made Mortal Kombat Subzero in the late 90's so I think The Undertaker deserves his own game just as well.

Honestly it's a pretty underwhelming list. What made 2k14's good was the large variety and representation of all era's of WWE from the Hulkamania era onward. And how it gave you an all star roster throughout the whole history of the company. This game just the same batch of legends who have been in every game prior to this and none of unique obscure picks that came with 2k14.

I like bray but with 21 limited matches in showcase 36 isn't the match I would highlight john cena, honestly mania 39 doesn't need 4 matches, just the bloodline matches.

The "Hollywood" Rock gimmick didn't come until almost 2 years after Mania 17 when he came back bald after filming The Scorpion King. This version of The Rock was when he was the biggest star in wrestling, even more than Stone Cold, and left shortly after this to go film The Mummy Returns and wouldn't come back until The Alliance story was happening a few months later. This is The Rock that has been missing from games for a while now as they usually have an older mid/late 90's version, the Hollywood version, or a modern version. This was the version that I grew up watching, so I'm very excited to see it return, especially considering this is my second favorite match of all time.

2k sucks they constantly skip over 98 Kane every year in these games. It seems like they don’t care about Attitude Era fans. Only one damn match in the showcase for Attitude Era. Yet they put several Hulk Hogan and Ultimate warrior matches in but barely any classic Rock or Stone Cold matches.
