WWE 2K24 Universe Mode Has Got Me Interested But...

WWE 2K24 looks to have one of the most updated Universe Mode's since at least WWE 2K18, and it has me interested... kinda. Let's go over the news and go through the good and what has me cautious.

Bro finally someone said it. I get so tired of cutscenes involving the ring area. Storylines in wrestling also take place backstage, parking lot locker room etc. Shocked they havent added those yet. Would really give universe mode some much needed replay value.

Smackdown 2 for PS1 season mode did it the best. Once you got past the main story stuff the rest was pretty much RNG and it was very fun. After that 2K14 universe mode was my other favorite.

Universe mode essentially is like madden franchise mode. It was the best mode that kept people interested but eventually the devs neglected it as if the fans hated it. Then reintroduced things old games had as if it was new features meanwhile the grindy microtransaction mode gets all the attention and the last installment that had a good version was 2012

I generally wouldn't mind if they brought back the Story Collection from 2K15, Add that to Rivalry Actions and you could have tons of new ideas for Universe Mode in 2K24.

Universe mode needs to be exactly what it says on the tin *universe* mode. I want my episodes of raw and smackdown looking like a real TV show, i want the intro for raw and smackdown played at the start of each show along with starting pyro and then into commentary. I want to be able to schedule promos instead of matches as well as backstage interviews about rivalries. This would essentially allow us to make full proper shows

One of the simple things is being able to select the people involved in a cut scene So frustrating when you’d select a rivalry action but the opponent randomly selected just throws off the whole scene, like you select a scene where you take both people out but one of them is in your stable, it makes no sense

Promos is a crucial aspect of rivalry building and Wwe storylines. It can help build rivalries from raw and smack down to PPV. Without it, universe mode won’t make sense. I hope they add some aspect of it. I also want beat the tribal chief mode implemented in universe mode where every time you are about to beat Roman, someone interfere.

I think the biggest game changer Universe mode needs is being able to book shows ahead of time and for the AI to book my universe toward those shows. Say I wanted to build to a Wrestlemania match between Becky & Bayley. It would be great to be able to save that match for that card, then Universe recognizes how to book that rivalry’s matches up to the show.

Yeah it would be cool if they brought Promos back in the game especially if they had more than 2 people it would be amazing if they had backstage promos or cutscenes they should also add 3 vs 3 or 4 vs 4 rivalries with brawl animations on locker room clearances. Maybe they could add home invasions or give us an option to fight in public. At least make the backstage brawl area bigger adding the managers office and locker rooms. But I still have feeling that this will be a good wwe game.

Weird how the Universe Mode hasn't gotten much better since Smackdown vs Raw 2011; the game it began in. Hell, in that game, story lines actually ocurred with some frequency compared to some of the subsequent games.

Not a fan of rivalry actions, because I prefer to let the universe mode play out, and I don't like the way it picks the rivals, there is no potential rivalry anymore. If they change them so there is a cause and effect, like returning from injury, splitting up tag teams etc., then that would be more interesting. Also need triple threat, fatal 4-way and faction rivalries., as you said.

I think we wont get RTWM ever again, so i think the best thing to do is bring back story creation, and more creative modes, i would expand universe to become season mode. Which means you can have a sandbox mode OR. From a select amount of stars you can choose and they have an entire voice over , cutscenes etc. its gonna be better yhan season mode

Hopefully, 2K adds faction rivalries in universe mode. That'll be 🔥 if we can pick out cutscenes from backstage brawls to brawls within the ring between two rival factions. We can finally live out a fantasy rivalry between DX and NWO. Or any other faction you can think of. Also, I hope they allow us to write our own promos with texts and branch options. Like in story designer mode. We also need backstage interviews/ attacks.

Things I want to see in Universe Mode: More superstar specific cutscenes, bring back Randy Orton’s one he RKO’s you from behind, Brock Lesnar, AJ Styles appearing out of nowhere and hitting you with a phenomenal forearm etc. Please bring back Show Intros and The Draft because they brought a sense of realism to the game and really added replay-ability. Bring back controlled mid match run ins, I want to be able to interfere in my rivals matches and screw them over. More match specific cutscenes: Special Guest Ref, Ambulance, Casket etc. Please add in backstage segments: E.G. If you’re on Raw have interactions backstage with Adam Pearce to advance storyline, text based dialogue like: “I’ve been really impressed with your matches lately, I’d like to put you in a title match.” Or if you’re a cowardly heel always getting DQ’d or counted out, he puts you in Last Man Standing, Falls Count Anywhere match stipulations etc or threatens to strip you off the title. Just a few suggestions 2K :).

My issue with universe mode of recent is just the lack of the surprise element like u control everything so its not as entertaining for me when i know when somebody’s gonna run out or do an ambush etc. i would like it how it was in wwe 13 i think where everything was just a lil more random and hectic and superstars was just running out left and right due to previous rivalries etc. give each superstar behavioral traits so these random encounters would make sense and still be shocking and create storylines for u or further enhance storylines that u already made

My problem with Universe mode and they’ve had the same problem for years is if I edit the matches of a show, then I leave universe mode to update something in the settings on the main screen, if I come back to Universe Mode half my matches are either gone or changed dramatically and the other half are no longer title matches. I’m not open to any other feature until they fix that first

Hey, just came across your channel. Just wanted to say so far it’s been nothing short of impressive. I think a couple cool things that could also be added to the game in terms of elimination style matches could be a four corners elimination style match which I believe is from wrestlemania 15 with Ken Shamrock, gold dust, Bohl, Venus and road dog. As far as universe mode goes I think this is a great opportunity to possibly discuss how they could just work on focusing their effort in making longevity effort into the game. So instead of going onto 2K 25 we just focus for another year on 2K 24 and try and improve everything from this standpoint. Obviously they’ve invested some time and energy into making this a better game, so this is where they could dig deep and say we’re putting a foot in the sand for now, and really trying to give this everything it’s got and as far as adding new superstars this is where my action comes in and they can do exactly what they did with NBA 2K And allow you to purchase new characters or just go through my faction to get them the old-fashioned way obviously paying to play is going to be key à la cash is king

The large majority of my playtime in wwe2k is in myuniverse mode, I play the other modes once maybe and that's it, so it's disappointing to see it languishing every year with minor updates, it really needs something big to refresh it. That being said the new match types will be a good addition.

I really wish they would dedicate a game to Universe mode. Universe & GM mode are the most played and has longevity so why skimp on those two modes. Triple threat & fatal 4 way rivalries would be nice. Making managers more useful. The cutscenes they put in story mode they could put some of those in Universe, promos and backstage cutscenes would be great too. I don't think 2K listens to feedback that much anyway.

I think promos would work best without a minigame or forced corny written dialouge. I think it should work similarly to the cutscenes we already have and be integrated with rival actions. Visually, they’d just be a single cutscene without a match attached (maybe unless you tie brawls in here too), and there would be no wrestler voice acting. Instead, you’d have the promos mimed out in a quick pace with the announcer’s sort of implying it (“Whoa! He did not just say that!” “He’s challenging him to a match tonight?! Oh my!” “A better champion than him? You must be kidding)”, with the exact content depending on the type of promo you selected, obviously, just like rival actions. Instead of causing damage or building large amounts of momentum, promos could focus on status effects, adding more to the pool. You could cut a self-promo hyping yourself up to get an artificial hot streak, demoralize your opponent in a promo battle, distract him with an interview, or something, yada yada. You’d basically be selecting between ‘match events’ and ‘promo events’ in the rivalry action menu, kind of like story designer. It would be sort of clunky, but considering how well the current cutscenes mime emotions and dialouge, I think you could get the same thing across with some proper motions, crowd noises, and commentary context. I mean, it’s the only way I think I can work. You can’t VA this thing, and universe is too unpredictable for text promos to be made for everything a player could do too. Leaving the exact contents to imagination the way you fill in the blanks with rival actions would work well, I think. (Oh, and I’d also like the ability to specifically pick what wrestlers do what in rivalry actions. If I’m interfering in my opponent’s match, at least in free mode, I’d like to be able to decide who they’re wrestling and stuff, and be able to switch between members of a tag team rivalry for singles actions.)

And say they work hand in hand on ideas and implementation into the game and say 1. All these ideas that people want can show up in this years game 2. As a universe mode twitch streamer I have been highly disappointed in the current state and I have to make my show so dry to make thing's run smoothly. For example my universe mode does not feature normal one-on-one match's I book all of my match's as no DQ (with rope break enabled) and I've never been able to use rivalry action's because as soon as I hit start match it's changed to a normal match type with 1 or both superstar's being changed to someone random

Promos would be good, promos make wwe what it is. We also need more tag team breakup scenarios I want to have hit finisher on tag team partner, but it’s each characters finisher, or what move would work, so jimmy/jey uso superkick, Roman spear. Brock f5, cena FU. so many they could do. Not just chair shots 😂

Unpopular opinion but I think it's time to nuke Universe Mode and do something new.

That's definitely unpopular. Knowing 2K if they ever do nuke this mode, they'll replace it with a mode that no one likes similar to my faction or 2K towers. That's my biggest fear if they ever get rid of the mode so I pray that it doesn't happen

I love Universe, but I also wouldn't be against a try at something new either. Current mode is definitely being held together by a bit tape and prayers at this point. Though I can't lie, I'm still somewhat interested in this kinda updated Universe in 2K24. Last few years have been that ROUGH for UM players.

I mean a WWE Franchise Mode. OK Name is Not acurate i think but. would be cool. Like SmackDown Here comes the Pain Season. But you can book, Fire People, walk arround in Ego Perspektive with a Wrestler or GM Managers. See Superstars Train im Gym. Lockerroom Talks get Injuried. A Mix of My Rise and Universemode but Better. Drafts, more Cutscene Variations, Better Rivalries. OK wish is Wish .

Without voice-overs, promos suck! It's 2024 2K can use Ai voices instead of make lame ass excuses for why they can't.

I did not like the part where WWE 2K23 they took off Universe mode show intros so I pray that 2k reinstall the shows intro for WWE 2K24 and they have to allow us to choose 4 commentaries where we can select 2 to commentary on Raw and other on Smackdown

Got a question were you able to find out can we pick the outcome winner and be able to watch it I know you can pick it when you simulate but can you pick it and watch it instead of it randomly doing a winner if you watch it

They need to have a Brock Lesnar based storyline like when management gets tired of u holding the belt they send him out there to take it from u
