If you are a true fan of Women's wrestling in WWE and support it 1000%, you know the true and that is that AJ Started it! It's a fact!

Sundas Ayaz It's TWEETED you baby boomer. The divas title is a relic but women like AJ, Natalya, Mickie, and Beth Phoenix gave it a semblance of prestige over the calender models who were brought in to piss on the women's wrestling scene. They are truly the unsung heroes of their time, and imo the actual pioneers for what it would eventually become today.

This will remain as one of my favorite interviews. The interviewer had sensible questions, and there's something about Aj that will just inspire you to be true to yourself. Aj Lee was by far the best seller, she could make any wrestler look good. Not to mention she had about 5 pretty good moves in NXT and FCW she wasn’t allowed to use in WWE because the divas of her time couldn’t do there part of the move to make it work. She was limited because there was only 1-2 more divas on her level. Aj was the one who started the women’s revolution. She didn’t back down from back down from Backstage bullies and stoop up for women’s wrestlers when no one else did. Like how she tweeted to Stephanie Mchahon about how females didn’t get paid nearly as much and receive a lot less tv time even when some sold more merch then higher paid male wrestlers

I don't understand why people keep pitting female against female. AJ Lee did a great job and so do the Bellas, each gave something different to the division. The reality show put more spotlight on the women's division as well regardless of people not being ok with it. How many females in wrestling have had high flying moves, great matches but no real recognition even before AJ came along...blame wwe not the women. They have always wanted to do more.

Lewis Berrie I agree. Besides even Punk has said he doesn't care if AJ goes back to WWE at some point. Besides I can't blame AJ for just taking a break to cool down from all the 'heat' around her husband at the moment. It may take some time, but I have hopes AJ will return someday. And when I hear "Let's light it up!" playing on the speakers of my TV ever again, I will be the happiest person ever.

Watching AJ talk about her new book discussing her stuggle with mental illness. I look to me left and see "Nikki Bella talks about the show, Total Divas". Yup, sounds about right. AJ discussing a major accomplishment, Nikki talks about her fake, garbage reality show.
@Xehanort107 жыл бұрын
And can you believe that Nikki Bella fans say AJ was only successful because of Punk? Nah. AJ was successful long before she even met Punk let alone before she dated and married him. Nikki only became successful when she started dating her meal ticket John Cena. In their first WWE stint Nikki and Brie barely did anything. Just hung around backstage for random segments and had the odd match or 2. But as soon as Nikki started dating Cena back she came and started to be given the same special treatment her boyfriend gets. Nikki was only given a run with the Divas Title so WWE could erase AJ's record and spite her and Punk for leaving which I don't blame them for. I don't mind Brie but I can't stand Nikki.
@seymourglass267 жыл бұрын
AJ's story is still a lot shorter than Nikki's. Nikki may be an inferior talent, but at least she didn't quit for an insecure man.
@Xehanort107 жыл бұрын

I remember, while in middle-high school, being completely obsessed over A.J. (I loved wrestling even before she stepped foot into the squared circle) but sadly the divas that were on didn’t have that connection with me like A.J. did. They were all gorgeous supermodels and I knew for a fact that I was not...I’m literally a potato. I always wanted to be in the WWE when I was a kid because of the male superstars I would watch every Monday and Friday. In a sense I’m just like A.J. because I’m a hardcore tomboy...I never got into barbie dolls or dressing in skirts or heels, all that girly shit was not my cup of tea. I like to think that’s because most of the girls in my school were grade A assholes so I connected with the boys who were the ones who got me into wrestling. So ever since I was in elementary I wanted to be in the WWE (and I had this silly fantasy of wrestling with the guys because there was no way I’d be able to wrestle with those gorgeous divas like kelly kelly, alica fox, layla, the bellas, eve, trish stratus, mickie james, melina, gal kim, etc.) and when I saw A.J. for the first time on my screen (she was in NXT) I immediately took notice of her geeky personality. I took notice of her knee high converse, her nerdy t-shirts, her ninja turtle and kitana halloween costumes, and once I even remembered seeing her wear a classic nintendo controller belt buckle. having done my research on her (because I immediately felt that connection since I grew up with boys who played video games and read comic books and collected action figures...u know, nerdy shit) and I found out she was just like me. She wasn’t a girly girl and the fact that A.J. (a very different type of diva) was able to make it into the WWE then that gave me hope that I can, too. It’s about the fans and doing what you love. It’s not about the fame, rather it’s about being able to entertain an audience with your talent on the mic and in the ring. Much like A.J., I would have declined to be apart of the total divas reality show too lol because I’m more of a private person. it wasn’t until my junior year of HS where my mom told me to look into getting a career that was more “realistic” and “attainable.” So...my dreams having been crushed, I went off to community college for two years, the dream of being in the WWE a long forgotten memory. Until recently, like a month or two ago, where somehow I’ve been pulled back into wrestling. Idk how, maybe it’s because youtube kept recommending me WWE videos to watch or because I remembered how much of an impact A.J. had on me. Either way, I’m going to keep going for my dream. She paved a clear path for a new generation of divas and I’ll be damned if I let the weeds grow back.
