That survivor series of 96 was a turning point. Sid got cheers, shaen boos, but this was the cusp of attitude era. Keep in mind also that bret vs austion part 1 was on the card. So the audience was SLOWLY turning. It took another 10-12 months for them to go full throttle but they got it right to end the monday night wars

You know what #1 really should have been and it wasn't even included? RVD vs Cena in the ECW arena, lol. Cena has gotten booed before, Reigns has gotten booed before, but this was different. They wanted to KILL HIM. If RVD had lost that match, it would've legitimately started a riot. They got Cena out of there as soon as the finish happened, because from what I heard, they were afraid of him getting stabbed.

They definitely had to call an audible more often back then. The crowd during the 80’s and especially in the 90’s were brutal. Pretty common to throw bottles and shit into the ring/stage, and if you get them amped up and don’t give em what they want, they’ll literally riot. Just look at every other Guns N’ Roses concert haha.

The first time I booed the babyface and cheered for the heel was during the Randy Orton/Christian feud in 2011 I was so heated when Orton defeated Christian for the WHC in which Christian held it for only 2 days counting the tapings.

I think we're in a wrestling era where the fans will cheer who they respect, regardless of who is a face or heel... we, the fans, are also smart enough to see who is getting corporately pushed so, if the wwe is pushing a person to be a face, they'll get booed for that reason. If a person is a heel with a story that's bad-assed or, if they're a very good villain putting in great story work, they might get cheered for putting on a respectable performance... Cheering and Booing can be anti-political as well... I'm so glad that live crowds are back for this reason. The fans are smart people that'll cheer what they want and it's all okay.

To be honest even if they change this character into a heel or face eventually fans turn on them so it’s hard to do either one.Becky Lynch as a face was getting some praise for a little until she was deemed overrated.Becky Lynch was a heel for a little while until fans wanted her to finally have her moment.Now for the hometown situations of course the heels become the most cheered and faces become the most booed or whoever the crowd has heat for.Shawn screwed Bret so most of Canada hates him and will cheer whoever is going against him that’s why they cheered Kane that night.The Chris Benoit one was weird because I don’t know what reason they are in disapproval of Benoit when Orton is the heel but WWE misread this and turned Orton into a face and he was really a boring one and is always more interesting and more deadly as a heel.Roman Reigns would’ve been perfect to turn heel in 2014 instead of Seth Rollins.Dean Ambrose was the best on the mic and Seth Rollins was the best in ring worker and Roman Reigns was the powerhouse and generational star.Seth Rollins being the ones the fans slowly get behind makes sense,Dean Ambrose being the one the fans take to automatically makes perfect sense as well but making his climb to the top be more gritty to tell a story of how Vince was big on Roman and HHH was big on Rollins.The Usos should’ve had their moments in their debut when they first came to WWE in 2010 instead of being underutilized during that time.

I was at a local lucha libre event. The first event was a womens singles match. And both girls were cheered. Admittedly the heel put on a better show with bigger moves. Pretty funny because the heel was expecting to be booed. The men were whistling for more women.

That’s a tough one. I say Roman because at least at the start of Cena’s reign he was a loved babyface and he played off the boos so well that it became endearing after a few years. Sycho sid was so charismatic that the fans loved him. Shawn michaels was booed because they were fed up with his reign. Fans did not accept AJ styles as a Heel The rock was booed because he had announced that he was leave the Wrestling to dedicate himself to Cinema. If it weren't for that, Brock lesnar's victory would have felt like Sheamus' at TLC 2009. Montreal screwjob is synonymous with hate for Shawn michaels Obviously the Fans did not want Batista taking the place that belonged to Daniel bryan or CM punk. I would even dare to say that the fans would have cheered El Torito over Batista. I didn't understand that they chanted "You screwed Bret" at Chris benoit, he never had anything to do with the Montral screwjob. It's okay that the Fans wanted Randy orton to win the World heavyweight champion but what was the point of chanting "You screwed Bret" at Chris benoit?

I mean Heel and Face it’s.. its deeper then just definition of the two and a thick line between.. if the Face is too much of a suck ass, self centered and just not “that” - then the boos come in. Heel is an asshole yes but when a heel is a SOB by being brutally honest on the mic and is living practically like His all in the ring and fights with everything He gots and takes opportunities from the minimal hole of that “opened window” - it earns the Heel somewhat kind of respect and relatable in some ways too at times.. soo a heel can be the biggest asshole overall at the first glimpse BUT He’s Our asshole and He’s gonna get cheered every time no matter what He does..🤷‍♀️
