It just hit me not too long ago that this is the first game with fully animated unique entrances, full Titantron videos playing on the tron. This is wrestling game history

2001 was by far The Rock's best theme. The drums after "if ya smell" honestly hits my ears in a unique way. Fantastic work from Jim Johnston

The original case of this game had the WWF logo on the cover. But, by the time it came out as a part of the "PS2 Greatest Hits" collection, WWF changed to WWE. Therefore, the cover was changed to have the WWE logo and the game remained the same with the WWF logo and dialogue referring to it as WWF

it also happened with smackdown 2 know your role, in the rerelease in 2002 the logo was changed to the ruthless agression era one of that time, and the wwf logo was changed to the wwe one is funny how in that rerelease in the cover art, chyna still appears, even if she already left the company in really bad terms, same for eddie guerrero

I remember walking into my cousins room with my twin. My cousin wasn’t there so we cranked up his ps2 and he had just gotten this game. It was the first time I got my hands on a wrestling game on ps2. I got The Undertaker and my twin got Jeff Hardy. After that day we played wrestling games everyday for probably 10 years. I’ll never forget this game!

@@Retro_Gamer_89 If I remember correctly, you had to first unlock him as a playable character, then you could edit his theme in the create a superstar section of the game, though...it has been a very long time since i played this game, so i may be wrong.
