Bob Weir describes Janis Joplin as “one hell of a girl” and talks about her romance with his old friend Ron "Pigpen" McKernan. He also reveals that Steve Jobs was nice to him, but a little caustic when they met. Anderson Cooper says he got to meet Charlie Chaplin when he was just five years old.

Pretty good. The train trip across Canada was in1970, a tour that included the Grateful Dead, Janis Joplin, The Band, Buddy Guy, Flying Burrito Bros, Ian & Sylvia's Great Speckled Bird, Mountain and Delaney & Bonnie & Friends. It was made into a movie, the Festival Express. There was a massive amount of drinking on the train, especially by Rick Danko of the Band and Janis. Bob Weir is a great storyteller, and of course he has a gazillion of them.

At 1:45 as Weir gets to the point of the story (to talk about the ghost), Anderson interrupts to talk about his maybe haunted house, and kills the whole question. Bob didn't tell us about the ghost, Anderson gives no indication weather he's seen a ghost or not. Interviewer (what is this guy on?) lets it happen and moves on to the next question. This video is Weir'd.

Can’t believe Bobby is giving these clowns the time of day. He’s bought into the programming hook, line and sinker. Completely towing the establishment line. 🤡🌎

To be fair he's gotta stay kinda in the spotlight to promote a tour. But mostly, I think it's because he comes from a time when people on TV were cool and never really noticed how things have changed.

Yeah it's really sad for me to see how Bobby and the boys got pulled into this Commie Globalist crowd. They used to be about Freedom and Liberty, leave me alone to find my own way home. Not wearing a f ing mask on an empty lawn because the Communist party told me too. Such a disappointment

My Deadhead husband, if he were still alive, would be appalled at the very idea of Bob Weir being on a show like this. Of course he wouldn't have accepted John Mayer into the band either, so there's that. He was a purist.

Actually, now that I've watched the whole thing, poor bob seems to be getting A LOT slower with answering questions and explaining concepts and pretty simple stories. It could be due to a lot of things, old age, drug abuse on tour, or possibly even early symptoms of dementia or Alzheimer's... it just seems like he's having a lot of trouble stringing words together. But either way, I have always had a lot of respect and interest in Weir and his weirdness but I sure hope he's getting the help and care he needs as he's aging. (I'm sure he is) but either way I hope he stays around for a while. I have yet to catch a show and I'd be in heaven if I got to see anything close to the grateful dead just one time during my life...🤷‍♂️
