Made in 1944, this WWII training film, "Panzergrenadier on the Battlefield was one of a series created by the Wehrmacht. Panzergrenadier are mechanized infantry units in armored forces who specialize in fighting from and in conjunction with infantry fighting vehicles or in this case the Sd.Kfz. 251 half-track. These are designed to carry a mechanized squad of six to eight soldiers into, during and out of combat while providing direct fire support for those troops.
The film includes instructions for positioning troops and vehicles, setting up defensive positions, and preparing for enemy attacks. It also mentions reconnaissance tasks, establishing communication with forward units, and the importance of maintaining camouflage and secrecy. Overall, it outlines the strategic and tactical steps taken to defend a position and respond to enemy actions.
