I'm so sad that when I was young I didn't quit understand their sacrifice. Now that I'm a man and a veteran myself I understand. I'm proud to have lived in a time to have known WW2 veterans

Whenever people say it's the worst time in history to be alive in today's society, they really have no idea how far worse it was back then. I will always cherish and appreciate the good things we have today over the bad, and these kind of footage reminds me of that.

I miss the old timers. I miss their presence. I'm a sentimental type guy and people and things mean alot to me. There was a different feeling they brought to the world and my Church. They were a strong dedicated group of people. Now adays nobody stands for anything and are easily corrupted. My Grand parents and great grandparents generation left a void in this world as they leave. I miss them and love them.

Well said. They were a better type of people, not all of them obviously but some of us were lucky to know the amazing ones and it changed the way we see things for the better and we gotta pass that on to our kids 💯

I like to be an optimist about these things but more and more it seems like dark times are coming. So much growing hatred, divisiveness, bigotry, and suffering. It worries me a lot. I truly hope it gets better, lest these peoples sacrifice be in vain.

@@israelramirez6644 their mentality growing up in the Great Depression was so different than anything we have had to endure. Every hardy soul I have had the honor to interact with that lived through this triumph has such a nonchalantness to them I cannot comprehend. In their minds, they did what they were supposed to do. This was the greatest generation of Americans that there will ever be. At our greatest time of desperation and need, they answered the call with flying colors. Happy 4th to anyone reading this. Despite what difficulties we may face, we have so much to celebrate🇺🇸🇺🇸🎇!

If I had a time machine, I would definitely visit VE day, we will never have another day of euphoria like that, even winning a World Cup can't compare! It also can't be repeated because there is nothing to celebrate after nuclear armageddon, so there will really never be a moment in history like that again 😂
