@@barrybark3995 It's a really beautiful and interesting part of Essex especially if you like military history.. we've seen the radar tower many times but this was the first time we'd been able to take a look inside so couldn't resist taking the opportunity to make a quick video.. My son Finley is often with us and enjoys learning about the places we visit but as he's still quite young we don't like to focus too much on him when we're filming. Thanks for taking the time to watch and comment 👍🙂

What a great little museum,i was unaware that the array was moved manually not a popular duty! Also is that a Banksy on the wall?😀👍

It really is a lovely little museum, having been to the one at East Tilbury in the past and seen the state that's now in it was nice to see one so well looked after.. I believe there's some disagreement regarding the 'Banksy' on the EXDO tower, it certainly looks like one but I'm no expert 😂

I remember going in it in the early 90's and the steel floors had collapsed. It was a mess of tangled rusted steel inside but you could climb up inside it a way. Then at some point it was boarded up with steel and had a tall fence put around it, to keep the kids out I guess. It must have taken quite some work to strip all the rusted steel out of it and restore it.
@ExploringWithEmAndStu3 ай бұрын
We had no idea it had been in such a mess, it really does make you appreciate how much work has been done to get it back to near its original state.. Thanks for watching and commenting 😊👍

I lived in harwich in the late 90’s early 2000’s and we used to play man hunt all over that area as it wasn’t fenced off, you could get down in all the tunnels, we lived opposite this and one day we had a knock on the door and it was the police, in one of the bunkers which was over grown in front of it by brambles, a dog walker had found a burned body with what was later determined to be axe wounds to his legs, it was rules a suicide.
@ExploringWithEmAndStu3 ай бұрын
Yes I heard about the body they found in the late 1990s.. all seemed abit suspicious dispite being ruled as suicide.. It's great this place is now being looked after and preserved but I'd have loved to have explored it when it was overgrown and abandoned, there's something quite magical about it..
