This is an amazing story of love for family, the loss a family never forgot, and a grand daughter making a wish come true for her deceased grandmother. This would be a beautiful tribute to all soldiers who didn’t make it home, if it were made into a movie. WOW. Very touching story indeed.

He was found in 2021 but unidentified. Then a grand niece just got curious one day and dug in a basement closet. She initiated a search, a huge commitment following all leads all the way to people in Germany, nonprofit organizations, the US government. And this is the outcome.

His remains were at the American Cemetery in Normandy! They exhumed the remains to do DNA tests! When they matched his niece, he was returned home!
