My dad's older siblings both served as interpreters they wereAll born in Hawaii,All of their grandparents have been born in Japan.Their father was born in the Kingdom of Hawaii, while their mother was a "picture bride" from Japan. Aunt Haruko was interned In a concentration camp In Arizona for a year.After her release,She worked in the secret listening post back home.Uncle John was recruited into US Army,Straight out of high school.CongratulatedThe languageSchoolCampSavage Minnesota,In the early 1944.He spent the last year of the war, dodging Japanese ginFire, while trying to convince them to surrender.After the warBoth aunt and uncleServed in the Army occupation of Japan. We are as proud of their effortsTo create a peaceful postwar Japan,Is anything they did in combat.
