so, a school system that doesn't even have its own transportation department hired one bus company, then *fired* that company -- probably over cost -- then hired a company whose buses haven't even passed a state inspection? no school admin thought to ask any questions... or just didn't care since the price was right? *then* they just piled on this 'driver' (rightfully so) who isn't even *certified*, all the while being incompetent themselves?! i get it's a charter school or whatever, so they wouldn't have their own fleet of buses, but our 'out of district' kids gets picked up by regular buses through a contract these schools have with the surrounding cities. difference is *we're* professionals operating maintained equipment. wow, what a comedy of errors and ship (or bus) of fools. that 'driver' shouldn't be the only one who gets fired. this is why us school bus drivers get paid fairly well, because we have to get that Class B license and go through a lot of training.

Most companies would have a cover driver show up and take the kids to their stops. The driver involved in the accident has to fill out paperwork and get drug/alcohol tested. @ryanbarker52174 жыл бұрын
@@meghanc8940 so, the school hired the cheapest bus company, who hadn't had their buses inspected and certified, who *then* hired yet another company for drivers, who may or may not be certified to drive, and the safety idiot is just like, 'nah, it'll be fine.' i'd guess the driver knew he wouldn't pass a drug test, so he bailed. what's he got to lose, he knows he's fired anyway? if he didn't cause the accident and was clean, there's no reason for him to leave. in my area, these kinds of schools contract an actual school's buses with proper drivers and state certified vehicles to make these kinds of runs, which goes to charter schools, behavioral schools, catholic schools, and tech schools. we do all sorts of these routes, and my district is pretty small. i wouldn't trust some third-party bus company for a second.
