This brought back memories of listening to my grandfather’s Hallicrafters Sx-71 receiver as a kid, while doing my homework. That boat anchor radio provided decent warmth during fall and winter months too. Those were wonderful memories. 😊 Thank you!

I've driven by these antennas many times and I never knew what they were for. Thanks for posting this!

I live on the far south west of WWV's US range. How can I get the time signals here near Austin, TX?

You can receive these time signals with any radio with the shortwave radio band on 2.5, 5, 10, 15, and 20 megahertz. You will hear WWVH from Hawaii on 2.5, 5, 10, and 15 megahertz and under such conditions BPM from China on 5 and 10 megahertz also a time signal station at the same time.

Use a better outside antenna. The best band to hear it on varies from day to night.
