Edward Gal rode this horse extremely well, sad to see the pair split up, on the other hand, it's great to see that another very good rider got this horse. Props to Matthias for riding such a fantastic horse so well

I agree me may not have the movements that he had before, and I of course don't know what Matthias does outside the arena, but I do know that Edward used rollkur when he trained Totilas, and that may be a factor why he had bigger movements before, like they came from the release when he didn't have to curl up like that anymore, but that's just my theory. I think Matthias rides very smooth, but as I said, I don't know what happens when nobody's watching.

When nobody's watching, Matthias rides him each day an hour before Totilas gets back into his box and getting groomed like all the other top horses in Schockemöhle's stable. Including some visits from people who want to see him of course + photographers from time to time, covering "mares". When he's allowed to move freely in the riding hall, then he moves just like he does under the saddle because he's used to it. And well, he isn't allowed to get on a pasture etc, which isn't surprising though.

@carocora3 non il est mieux que l'année dernière. Il a fait de gros progrés, bien que ce ne soit pas encore ca (l'arret le prouve...) et que son trot allonger est toujours aussi catastrophique, je le trouve bien mieux avec ce new cavalier

Before he moved too much like a Saddlebred; too much legs and not enough back. This is supposed to be dressage not saddleseat. Also a horse that talented in 'self carriage' should not have to have so much support in the hand if he is moving correctly. I think Matthias Rath is doing a good job of teaching a great horse how to move properly with more freedom.

Nothing happening behind, and Rath's hands not supporting. Transitions not flowing---and rath still digs his seat down when the horse bobbles. Blah. Sorry, this is still bad partnering.
