For halogenoalkane arent we going to use ethanol dissolves sodium hydroxide instead of only ethanol

Should the ketone have caused a colour change in bromine water also? As it contains an unsaturated carbon bond.

C=O is stronger than C=C and therefore doesn't react with Bromine water. In organic chemistry, only Carbon to carbon bonds are considered when determining if a compound is saturated.

Primary will turn into aldehyde when refluxed with acidified potassium dichromate, then do tollens reagent test, if silver mirror is formed then it is aldehyde
