Amazing! Proudly South-African. This event was hosted so well and such a great course.

Gebresselassie king of the track, Tergat king of the country. Tergat won 5 straight wins in worldcross country championships when the resistance from other runners was strongest.

Incredible 2:29 11th km from Tergat! Interesting that Gebrselassie tripped a little on that log, but I don't think it effected the result. Even Bekele at his best would have had trouble staying with that surge.

Agreed. Although, I’m wondering if the course and / or the kilometer was too short. Tergat was an insanely formidable runner, but I find it hard to believe he ran his penultimate kilometer at sub-4 minute mile pace.

It's funny how the commentator kept saying "He's 200 or 300 yards ahead" when the time difference was 12 secs or less. If it was 200 yards, that'd have been a 12 second 200, or 6 second 100 or 18 second 300 😁
