WATCH: Morning clouds likely Sunday with freezing lows, sun returns with low 50s in North Carolina

: After a bitter cold week, temperatures are gradually warming into the coming week. SUNDAY This weekend, temperatures will be in the middle to upper 20s early Sunday morning. Highs for the afternoon will be near normal with upper 40s to low 50s for the Foothills and Piedmont Triad. MONDAY A passing front late Sunday night into Monday morning may bring a few mountain snow showers on the western slopes. NEXT WEEK A series of mostly dry fronts will bring milder highs through midweek before a late week cool down. A chance for showers returns for the First day of February on Saturday.
