Matched by the beauty of the Western landscape and nature (as soon partly despoiled by settlers); but surely NOT matched by anything taking place in the movie!?!?!?! So I adore this music, but I cannot understand it in context... Is it a con-trick, or is it leading us somewhere else?

Tombstone is good but Wyatt Earp is great! My favorite of the two plus Gene Hackman is in it need I say more?

I'm glad you like it. I was unlucky enough to see it in the theatre. Some people left to get refunds and see another movie. I kept thinking it would get better, but it never did. Gene Hackman is pretty much just a cameo in it. Great cast. Dennis Quaid was outdone by Val Kilmer, but I wouldn't find that out for a decade since I wouldn't watch any movie about the Earps because of this boring slog. My wife convinced me a decade later to watch Tombstone. Val Kilmer and Michael Biehn stole the show. Sam Elliott always good. It was a more focused film. Music was good, but Wyatt Earp's is better. The only thing it got right.
