Hard to please dudes. Not wowed by a cycle. 1st time I've ever heard that one.

It's one game. I have him in a points league and was going drop him for Merrill, who is somehow available. Thinking twice now. But I mean Brock Holt hit for a cycle in the playoffs. I believe he's the only one to ever do it. As a Sox fan, I'll always love the Brock Star. But he wasn't a useful fantasy asset, outside of his versatility.

I think people have forgotten about Luis Matos because he was sent down. He's back in the majors and is hitting again. He had that great stretch in May, then slumped. He could be a sneaky add for a lot cheaper than he was after his hot stretch in May.

I think Kevin Gausman has been discussed at least 2x more than Crochet.

I didn’t draft Zac Gallen bc I was worried about the effect of his throwing 240+ innings last year, and I get a little nervous about velo spikes, especially after an injury. But for what it’s worth, Gallen’s career numbers vs. teams .500+ teams are actually slightly better than his numbers vs. sub-.500 teams. Win-loss is roughly the same, but his ERA, WHIP, and K rate are all better against the better teams. There’s not enough sample to say conclusively that he’s actually better against good teams, but he certainly seems to be opponent-neutral. To me, the bigger question is Gallen’s health.

I’d say Garrett Mitchell is a must add in deeper leagues. Could be a 5 tool guy. Still young. First round draft pick. No reason this guy shouldn’t be picked up. I think he’s the second best OF in Mil after Yelich

@@IdliAmin_TheLastKingofSambar probably, but he hasn’t looked like the better pitcher in the last month, I don’t see how anyone can dismiss Myers right now, the stat cast page doesn’t follow the eye test. Maybe he blows up I dont know, but right now the results are pretty good.
@IdliAmin_TheLastKingofSambar3 ай бұрын
@@b1foschiefs That’s fair, although Olson’s last three starts have been very good (including 6 shutout IP with 8 Ks vs. Atlanta), and traditional results stats aren’t great predictors of future performance. To be clear, I’m not saying Myers is bad, or even that Olson is necessarily the better immediate term choice. That depends on your league type, your needs, what their upcoming matchups are, etc. Moreover, their WHIP, K%, and BB% are nearly identical, and Myers has a better team context, but I do think Olson has the higher ceiling. The stuff is better, and he misses more bats, though it hasn’t shown up in his K rate yet, suggesting he’s still learning to put hitters away when he gets to two strikes. His hard-hit rate is also higher than Myers’, but a lot of it is on the ground, whereas Myers has allowed a higher barrel rate, and somewhat more damaging quality of contact allowed. The Brewers also seem to be more cautious about Myers’ pitch counts, but he’s also been more pitch-efficient than Olson, and again, Myers’ team context is better. We all evaluate players differently, and we’re all operating in different contexts, so I can see a case for either guy. I suppose it’s similar in some ways to the Gavin Williams vs. Christian Scott debate.
