Ms Helen I have to tell you how much you mean to me and what your videos do FOR me. I got up today feeling down and aching and I got on and found your video. It almost instantly made my day so much brighter. So please know how important you are to the world itself and how much you meant to me, and us, and the world. You never give up attitude and pushing on when you don’t feel like it is so inspirational. Honestly I just felt a little like giving up today and your video had a complete effect on me so much it was obviously you and not something else around me. So thank you and God bless you. It appears God works through you in many ways and the ladybugs are adorable! My son won’t let me do concrete projects but when I get back home I want to give it a try. Again thank you, Merry Christmas and God bless you and keep you safe.

Ms Helen, you are such a wonderful storyteller. I was riveted to your telling about your childhood. No electricity, running water, making soap, you playing in the seeds and your sister with the purple spot on the back of her neck when she got mad and threw herself on the floor, that made me burst into laughter. I think you are the salt of the earth. You are the truth. You are genuine. You are terrific. xo c

As you made those cute lady bugs, your birds came in for a drink and seeds(sparrows and red cardinals i think). Shawls are beautiful. I wear everyday shawls to keep my shoulders warm. Bless you and thanks for sharing everything. Sad about your trees. Could someone use pine for firewood? It could be in trade for clearing up the dead fall. Just a thought. :)

I live in Ky and our state did have some terrible storms.. they were about 20 miles from my area.. Lots of damage and loss of life. But neighbors and other towns around the state have come in and are helping .. And even the national news reporters have mentioned how their "faith" is getting people through.. They seem amazed.. But Southerners are people of faith.. and God is real and we know it.. even in the bad times!!

I loved the walk in the woods and hearing the crunching leaves. The dead trees are wonderful for providing nutrients and cover for wildlife. As they go back to the Earth, they be good for the soil. Tornadoes are so scary as well as heavy winds. So glad you continue to be safe. I love hearing the chickadees in the background. Love the lady bugs too! Thank you for spreading Love, compassion & kindness. I'm hugging you in my thoughts!!!

I so love taking those walks in the woods with you! Have a wonderful week. I pray that the Lord will send you some helpers. He sent you helpers when you moved the boulder to the rock garden. The lady bugs are so cute.... :) I used to make them from smooth oval stones... Your family will be coming for Christmas.. Maybe one of them has a chainsaw and can clear your path way in the woods so you won't break your neck stepping over the fallen trees... I am sure they are strong enough and could just drag them off to the sides.....Hint hint.. Danny, Steven and Cody... :) I still use my clothesline except in the winter....Clothes smell so much fresh... air dried... Loved watching you and listening to your stories

Ms Helen you do such beautiful work. I love learning from you. I grew up the first 9 years of my life with my mom cooking on a wood cook stove. From age 7 my mom starting teaching me to cook on that stove. We had an ice box. Once a week the ice man brought us ice. My dad, my brothers and his horses dug the well. About the age of 4 I sat in the grass and watched. We had a number 9 tub we took baths in, a kettle and a wash board to wash clothes. Sometimes he fingers would bleed. Mom made her own soaps. So thankful you are safe from the storms. Stay safe. MERRY CHRISTMAS

I think the simpler life was a better life. Please don’t be walking around in those woods until you can get someone to help you get it cleaned up, I don’t want you to fall and hurt yourself, well enough of that! Well, Helen, it looks like that storm took down all that dead wood for you. Now you need to get someone down there with a chain saw to cut that wood up. Maybe someone who burns wood in their home would like to go down and get that wood. My grandma had a scrub board that was used to wash laundry but by the time I was old enough to remember she had a ringer washer. I remember seeing her and my grandfather running clothing through that ringer to squeeze the water out. Then my grandmother would take all that wet laundry upstairs and out into the yard to spend what seemed like an hour hanging up all that wet laundry. I didn’t understand why they had that old contraption because my mother had a new fangled washer and dryer! No wringer! It was a few years before my grandfather finally broke down and bought a washer and dryer for grandma. I think that he only bought it because he wasn’t well anymore and couldn’t help grandma with the wash. My grandparents were born in the latter part of the 19th century. They were from a different kind of world. My mom was a late in life baby so my grandma was not around for as long as I would have wanted her to be. She knew how to cook and bake so well and never used a recipe. I still have her depression era cookbook that she never used. It has recipes for squirrel and rabbit which, I thank God, I hope I never have to use. She also loved gardening like I do. She knew how to sew and knit and all the rest that a good wife was expected to do in the 1800s. I remember her and my grandfather telling me that one of the things a prospective husband would check for was how well a young lady could make a pie crust! 😂 She made the best pies! Wish I had learned more from her. 🥲

She never grew up and she still lives with my mama. Now my sister's 3 grown son's live with my mama too and their girlfriend's. They all take advantage of her. I can relate, Helen, worked in a woolen mill on high-speed corners, my ears ring constantly, we weren't required to wear earplugs, didn't know about, weren't told about damage back in the day 12:40 and I also look at people's mouths to see what they are saying, but, with these mandatory masks requirements, it's an obstacle to us with hearing loss. Don't know when you recorded this video, but, we are now having your windstorm, here in Maine, on the 17th, I can count 4 trees down, just looking out one window. They aren't all the way down because other trees are in the way. But, it's unusually warm, tomorrow back in the high 20s

Hello Helen! So many people have wood burners these days, or fire pits. ☺️ I do love ladybugs! I’ve painted stones and golf balls glued to tees for pot and garden ornaments.
