So glad Wyclef decided to do this in front of our entire nation. Monumental, and so far different from the other versions of this song, it really speaks to what this songs true message is. Love.

It's a powerful song with a powerful message. We can be one.... But we need one to lead us to that serenity. We are not wallets, we are not pawns... we are souls. Put aside the war, the money, the fame..... Focus on what matters... Family, Peace, Brotherhood.... One another... we could look for each other.

SupahDupahPlayah MackNumbah1 unfortunately, my friend, that can not happen. Good and Evil will stay the same, they will keep themselves in balance. No matter what we all try to do, that Ancient Evil will remain here amongst us. Ever since the dawn of time, that Evil has been here. We have tried all sorts of different ways to combat it, but it only had gotten worse. Religions, Politics, Wars, Rallies, none of them had worked. Now I do try to hope and help in a better future for the next generation, but this is a fact that we all must come to face. Evil does not stop in this world, it only becomes stronger. When we kill people who have done Evil things, it does nothing. When the first Evil man was killed, his son had vowed for vengeance and it has been that way ever since. What is happening today is no different. One Good man kills an Evil man, thus making the Evil son vow vengeance and thus making the Good man into an Evil man. The battle of Good and Evil is just a see-saw of muderous conflict that is impossible to avoid or stop. No war on record is longer than this one, nor has there been one more studied by man. As you may guess, I am a religious man. But I believe that this is a truth that any man or woman can accept. We all know what comes next in this chapter and we all fear it. Each and every one of us. I do not wish for peace because it will not be granted to us. I only look toward what awaits us. I may sound crazy or suicidal or what not, but that's because none of you can think outside of that societal prism. So embedded of it that you have gotten comfortable and call it home. You hardly know your identities. But I am not here to speak of that. That speech may be given at another time. For now, enjoy whatever time you have left, young or old, for I will do the same.

SupahDupahPlayah MackNumbah1 within human nature, we make errors, regardless of knowing or not. I understand that you are emotionally moved by this song, but please do not let it misguide you. It's funny. I keep feeling like trying to simply tell you to convert to religion. But I would be darned if I would do that to you. But I do tell you this. Without religion, I would not have been able to give you this knowledge. So I will be honest with you and try not to offend you or anyone else in any way. I truly think that you should just test out a religion if you are not religious. And if you are religious, read more about the struggle of Good and Evil in said Holy Book. Well it looks like I did what I said I wouldn't. At least I can have an easy mind about doing all I could to assist you, though you might feel that you didn't need it. Stay safe and please think of my words. It may put some ease on your mind as well.

As a First Nations individual, 2:00 is the the most poignant part of this song; however, it all should be listened to & contemplated upon as it is played every day, in every town, in every language, in every country until humanity understands & begins to make amends for how we have wronged one another far too often & far too long.

Why is this so much better than the original song I think it’s the pain and meaning behind it, the suffering African Americans have endured is unacceptable and massively misunderstood by the white people. As a white kid i didn’t get taught any of this shit as a kid and it shocks me now that I’m painfully aware how much suffering they have endured for no good reason.
