I remember hearing this performance during the concert for 9/11 relief. I didn't know much about Wyclef Jean then. This has become one of my FAVORITE versions of Redemption Song 🎵 ❤️

I got something different from it, as he's wearing the flag, you could interpret it as him being enclosed and trapped by the American system and so he's trying to get 'redemption' or freedom from the system. Maybe?
