They are in different units but Taeyong and Ten go way back. They were in the same group of trainees (SR15B) before debuting and those boys have some seriously cool dance pieces and practice videos from their trainee time for example: kzbin.info/www/bejne/p3atZZuhpbaKbqc They also debuted together in NCT U (the first song released in all of NCT universe) with 7th Sense. In fact those same 5 members were the same 5 as in Baggy Jeans. We call them the Founding Fathers as they started everything off. Taeyong and Ten were also in SuperM together. So although their day to day unit activities have them on very different schedules most of the time, they are still very close and have worked together a LOT. This is the smallest unit that NCT U has done (the largest would be the songs that include all current members like Black on Black or Beautiful) 0f course anything smaller would be a solo hahahah
