This is high science on a cosmic plain of immortality, I have to play this no matter how long it takes... True genius.

I have seen Wynton perform in just about every imaginable context and he is positively amazing in ALL of them. i have been a round quite a while and have listened to a great many fine performances from almost all of the great stars of the trumpet from Maurice Andre' to Maynard Ferguson. Wynton Marsalis just very well be the greatest trumpet player to have ever lived. Who has ever played this instrument with his unique range of performance abilities???
@dezfusion12 жыл бұрын
Welp, nobody can ever play this tune again.... I've been watching this vid for years and its damned timeless. So so sick!

Herlin makes sure he always has a good time! He's a joy to watch and one of the most versatile jazz drummers around.
@musicmanson15 жыл бұрын
He is a good man. He played with a group that I am in over the summer. That was fun.
@pebblefrog19614 жыл бұрын
At 1:56 where the drummers lays it down so funky... reminds me of "Miles Runs The Voodoo Down" by Miles Davis. Wynton really is a master.

it's great to see jazz put up in such a big way. Compared to the stereotypical jazz group playing at a bar late at night, or a swing band for a dance. That's one of the things i like about wynton; he gets jazz out there.

THIS IS THE SHIT!!! Wynton is just an amazing trumpet player! I'm going to go to my room and practice for the next 400 years!

@minskbelarus That is a perfectly logical thought, I watched a piece from an old Harry James film, and said to myself, no way am I even going to come close. He played his number fast and precise similar to what we heard on this video. But put it in perspective, and always remember, they are the all time greats and this guy Wynton is right in that category.
