Wyoming Trail Cam Footage - Video Compilation

Videos from trail cameras provide a non-invasive tool for the Wyoming Game and Fish Department's Large Carnivore Section to monitor wolf activity and pack composition without causing disturbance. Deploying cameras near wolf den and rendezvous sites often yields excellent data because the sites are the center of wolf pack activity in spring as summer as they cooperatively raise pups. In late summer 2019, Large Carnivore Section personnel stationed a camera at a wolf den after the pack had moved from the site assuming the pack would revisit the den during their subsequent travels. The camera captured interesting behavior from both adult wolves (collared) and pups (uncollared) when they revisited the den, and also recorded the presence and behavior of 7 additional wildlife species.

I remember seeing a pack of wolves crossing the road while working in Banff National Park in 2010. The black wolf had the deepest blue eyes. Saw my first grizzly too, same fall season. Love trail cams.

It's ok, the wolf just smelled the old den where it was raised and quite literally became nostalgic. That's why it was making that noise. You can see another wolf walking around in the background trees. They like to chat :)

The first one that howled looked more like a coyote....thinner build then a wolf. At least in PA they are, maybe in Wyoming its different.

Watching this on my PC this morning just before daylight, my two dogs on the rug resting beside my chair hear the coyotes and go slam crazy, trying to get outside to run those strange dogs off their turf. Good sound recordings no doubt, having been checked out by the two resident experts here.
