Greetings of Ireland, Great job and lovely benches, They are the bees knees. My mom is eighty seven and has a big garden with lots of flowers. I call down to see her every weekend and look after the flowerbeds and cut the grass. I put in a drip Irrigation pipe a few years ago to save her from watering with the watering can.

Oh my... thats alot of plants! Can't wait to see them start flusing out. How fun to have her son right next door. My son and 3 grandsons are all a plane ride away. My neighbor had an electrical box right next to my driveway that drove me crazy. So I asked her if I could paint it hunter green... then put a 5 foot length of white picket fence in front ,and planted lots of climbers and flowers. Now I don't even see it. That very large row of boxes would kill me! Can you build a lattice or wood frame in front?

Have you ever tried the new varieties of big and little bluestem. Switchgrass also have new varieties that fit what you're doing, give great color/ texture. All are easy to mow down in spring. Smart to plant what works instead of fighting mother nature....she always wins. Thanks for the videos.

My favorite perennial is Midnight Masquerade. The first winter I left the beautiful seed heads on all winter and it reseeded everywhere! I must have given 30 or more new plants away that Spring.😂

Gosh there is so much information to know before you start planting. Like I'm pretty sure we didn't even think of morning or afternoon sunlight, much less tested the acidity of our soil or the mature size of each plant. No wonder we had plants die or not bloom! Kaleb, are you sure you weren't a landscape architect in another life?

I love sheet mulching. The weeds are easily killed. Your flower garden is beautiful. Am excited to see the growth and blooms. Love your mother.

Wood mulch is better for the soil. It provides more nutrients when it breaks down. Sheet mulch limits the flow of air and water to the soil.
