Agree that the Wyze v3 is the winner here. I own a Blink Mini and don't want to expand that network due to two main factors. One is that while the IR works great, once in IR mode the camera cannot automatically switch back to normal mode once a light is turned on or the sun comes up, which is a major bummer. Picture a burglar breaking into your garage and the Blink starts recording the movement - then the burglar either turns on a light or shines a flashlight thereby rendering the footage useless because it is still in IR mode. Second, no more free cloud recording as you pointed out. And sketchy info on whether or not you can even record directly to the Sync module. Many people are saying you need a paid cloud subscription too, and that the cloud recordings can then be downloaded to the Sync module. Can you clarify whether or not you can record directly to an SD card in the Wyze v3, or if you are also forced to get a cloud subscription?

You make a good point about the IR mode. Wyze3 does allow you to record directly to the SD card if you opt to not use the cloud storage.

I too own the blink mini and thought I was doing something wrong in my settings because like you said from dark to light you have to wake it up. Other than that I like the camera.

I like the Wyze, but I noticed the Eufy has a new camera which I see on amazon, but can't find info on: The Eufy Security Solo IndoorCam P24, 2K Pan & Tilt Security Indoor Camera, Plug-in Camera with Wi-Fi, Human & Pet AI, Voice Assistant Compatibility, Night Vision, Motion Tracking, HomeBase not Compatible. Pan the lens 360° horizontally or tilt it 96° vertically to get a clear view of the whole room.

WYZE "officially" support up to 32Gb of local storage because of the SD card FAT32 format. It actually can support more than 32Gb of storage as long as it is in FAT32. I am using multiple WYZE cam v3 with various size of storage while some are 64Gb and 128Gb without any problem. If your card is not on FAT32, which might be exFAT, just use a free app on computer to format it. Most of the newly bought cards are on FAT32. WZYE cam v3 now have the detection option you mentioned plus package detection. However, the optional detection zone was in cube pixel format in v2 but they changed it in v3. We, as consumers, comments on it and wish they will have firmware update on it soon.

I have a wyze 2 and eufy 2k and the eufy pan tilt one and looking to buy wyze v3 next to compare all of them myself. I found that the activity detection on the eufy is actually not that great, lots of false detections 'outside' my detection zones or detecting "pets" when it's a person. I tested the pet detection with my voice and the pet just looked at the camera and didn't phase them at all and they just kept doing what they were doing and didn't actually stop them from jumping up at all...

The biggest topics (in my opinion) that you didn't cover are; Stream quality & Connection stability. Mainly I'm wanting to know this because I have a lot of connection issues with my Wyze Cams (v2, v3 & pans). Great video otherwise!

Thanks for the comment, we will keep that in mind for future camera vids! My Wyze cams have been pretty reliable with streaming, but there have been a couple times it wouldn't connect as well.

just a suggestion, but camera cost is a one off, but subscriptions last forever. Perhaps a 'cost of ownership' would be helpful to some. Of course you know, like me. A cheap dude. Thats why I have blink, quality aside.

Just where can you buy the Wyze v3 for $24? You can't. It is $30 on Amazon. It is also $30 on Wyze's site, they add S&H charges. So, why are you misleading people?
