I wish I could say the same for my experience with the tech support I talked to... I have had my 3- WYZE CAM 2s for a year and one just stopped working all together! It doesnt recognize the power supply cord/plug no yellow light, no sound, NOTHING! Its very frustrating to hear everyone else loving theirs! @@wanmic1 yes it really does. At first it didnt but if you insert card and format through the settings it reads and writes just fine. I left it recording all night and the files are split up into like 2 or 3 minute clips. So i threw it into adobe premier to make one long edited video. Next ill try the time lapse feature

@@katalackatt76 test the sd card by connecting to a pc and if the computer can read it then reformat it to a format the camera can read. If the computer cant detect your sd card could be a bad micro sd card.

I get mine in a few days! I cant wait. I have a psycho landlord who has entered my room at least twice and I havent even been here a month YET! This is the best system for me due to this one feature! She has control of the wifi when I am gone. Nest and Ring are useless to me and make me more vulnerable due to their limitations. Thanks for designing this feature into it.

It would be great if you could schedule your recordings, a reoccuring continous recording every day between for instance 00-06. This would make the storage last longer as well. Is this a feature you would consider adding?

It sounds like you have a Wyze Cam Outdoor v2! While it doesn't utilize Continuous Recording like other Wyze Cams, you can still record for extended periods of time using Scheduled Recording with a MicroSD card. This feature allows you to record for up to 10 consecutive hours. These recordings get saved to your album instead of playback. You can do this by tapping "More" on the live stream page and then Scheduled Recording. trench lim set Wyze cam to your WiFi network set to always record if it disconnects from WiFi it will still record even if it powers down it will record as soon as it starts up again. When you get home for the day you can easily transfer your “dash cam” video if you have a device you keep in your car or 4g capable vehicle you can get live alerts and keep the cane power to a battery backup

The MaxDrive (Nas Drive) should come out soon for it to be worth it for the masses in the long run and cut out the need for microsd in case if someone steals or damage the camera(s) as some events last a lot longer than a few seconds. Hopefully the buyer gets to choose their storage (gb, tb, ssd, hhd) for the MaxDrive so it doesn't end up costing too much. There's real progress to be made. Curious to see if Wyze Cam shall dominate the market for its price and features.

Wyze Labs sent me three cameras because none of them recognize that an SD card is present - the original 32Gb card that came with the first camera. When I hopefully get this resolved, Dave said that it will record for a few days. A search here says "You can record about 90 minutes of 1080p (1,080 x 1,920) “Full HD” video on a 32GB SD Memory Card. If you reduce the resolution to 720p (720 x 1,280) “HD Ready”, you'll get closer to 200 minutes of recording time on a 32GB Card. So, "HD Ready" is SD? 200 minutes is only about three hours. Sequential 1 minute video clips...does that mean separate files...is there a lag time between these?

Had the same issue. Ended up formatting SD disk to "FAT " Not EXFAT. Camera recognized SD disk and asked me if I wanted to format it. Formatted it again thru camera and it worked.

Dear Wyze, I realize this is an older video, but you only recommended a 32GB card. When I clicked on the link it took me to a 256GB card. I have my camera set to record events from 10pm to 9am, but it is not recording consistently while I have this set on settings. I go to the playback and it is not recording the way I have it set. They work perfectly! With 3 of these cameras I can see every corner of the yard, and they were very easy to set up. Hey there! You might never need to format the microSD card. The formatting option impacts our camera's ability to read and write on the card efficiently. There are multiple formats available for microSD cards, but only FAT32 is recommended for use with Wyze Cams. The formatting option in our app is a troubleshooting step you can take if a compatible card is not recognized by the camera when inserted.

you can use a WiFi network connection to set up and configure your Wyze Cam in the Wyze app. Once the camera is configured with a microSD card inserted and Local recording to microSD card turned on, the camera will continue to continuously record to the microSD card, even when it is offline.

Great video. I purchase the wyze cam v3. I use to see the videos on event log but i no longer see them . Instead i see them on view back.can you tell me why is that. I cannot share the video like i could before with my friends. When i go back to view footage. Everytime it keeps reconnecting to wifi. I do have an sd card in side my wyze cam v3. I'm sorry that I apparently missed this comment! I know that this is super late, but local recording does NOT disable cloud recording. To do that, you would need to turn off motion and sound detection. Please note that this would also disable the push notifications as those are generated by the cloud.

I just got one and your video is great but after inserting the Micro SD card, the app doesn't recognize it. I've popped it out, back in. Checked and it's already formatted FAT32. As long as it's an exFAT formatted 256GB microSD card, you shouldn't have any issues using a different brand.

Mine will go into the slot, and be read. However, it's only if I hold it inside, I can format it etc. But your slot just won't hold it in. Regardless of what I do, it just will NOT stay in, so the retention arm or whatever used to secure it in place till you push it again to release is just not working.. I just got both today too, :|

OK. Deciding to say screw it; I used the charging cable to push it as far in as it could go, and it finally clicked to lock it in place.

Just use the edge of your thumbnail against the out facing edge of the card push in and push in again until it clicks. The only way I could get it to stay deep enough and click was with my fingernail. Not even a fingertip gives the right pressure

What would cause all my cameras to stop recording to local storage at around 1pm and then not start recording again until they get back onto the wifi network. I installed these cameras in sprinter vans but unfortunately they stop recording halfway through the day and don't start up until they get onto wifi and then they record again to sd card.

Hi there! Can you take the microSD card out of your camera and then insert it back in? After you do this, wait a few seconds until you hear a "ding ding" sound to confirm your camera recognizes your camera. Then, wait a few minutes before checking to see if anything has been recorded. @@TBb____ I had to switch to full 24hr recording. I was missing footage after 12 seconds. Seems ok now. I format about once a week so simple from the app. I had to reset the cameras twice since I installed them. Haven't had a problem since.There not the best, but for the money I think there worth every penny. Blocking out false motion areas like trees or shadows never works. They have certain bugs to work out.

My Wyze cam will only record 12 second clips with the micro sd card inserted. And it still has the 5 minute cool down period. The only way it will record longer than 12 seconds is if I have it on continuous recording. Do you know why that is?

I inserted the sd card just as you said and then plugged in rhe power and didn't get that sound, my other two cams don't have this problem I noticed its only with the white v2 this is my second one, I already returned one this week , and yes I've tried two different sd cards class 10 one being 16g and this one a 32g still same issue. My other two cam v2 are the black ones... please help and need a video explaining triggers and such

Thanks for asking, Fran! Our maximum supported capacity is 32GB. With a 32GB microSD card, you can record about 48 hours of HD video and 168 hours of SD video.

I've been very pleased with the length of HD video that will fit on a 32GB card. I've had my SD card in now for about 4 days recording non-stop in HD and there is still 2GB free before it will start to over-write. These cameras continue to surprise me.

If you want to have microSD cards in both the Base Station and the WCO, you will need two microSD cards. There is no Playback feature at this time for WCO because it consumed too much battery life. We're looking into ways we can improve this moving forward!

I'm willing to order this cam and use it in place where is not internet at all, can I do that ? of course I will set up the camera in place where I have WLAN the first Time, but after that I will not have any access to internet, please let me know if I can do that to make my order now. @@wyze

i have the same cam but from Neos. Hos's that possible. I bought it from Amazon. Now I can't use the micros SD as I have no settings for it.thhis is ridiculous. And I've seen the same camera from other brands. Which one is real deal?

I thought it only recorded for 2 minutes at a time with a 5 minute cool down. How does it record continuously if there's a cool down?

I installed 4 outdoor cam last week. I have a a Micro SD card in each cam but when I go to Advanced settings I do not see the Local recording option, The only option I have in MicroSD card Storage is Format, Am I missing something?

Yes 128GB works for recording. Firmware will not update until sd card is "ejected" (actually unmounted) which can be done under advanced settings for the camera.

Wyze Cams support 8, 16, and 32GB microSD cards but there are hardware limitations for fully supporting larger microSD cards and formats outside of exFAT.

Howdy, Three Owls! Let's make sure you're enabling the Service in your Account tab of the app and then double-check each device's settings. If the Service is enabled, it's possible the Event Recording or Detection Settings need to be enabled for Motion! Let us know if this helps or if you have any other questions. :)

Just got my first wyzecam and hoping to get it setup. Is it possible to get the camera setup through wifi once, then have the ability to record without being connected to WiFi and just record to the SD card? Don't mind having to pull the card out to access the videos recorded. Thanks

Wyze Do you get motion alerts even if there is a cool down period on the cloud recording?

@@staregazer, if your camera is still within the 5-minute cool down period you will not receive a notification. You can still view all the footage on your micro SD card if you're using continuous recording. Another option would be enabling our Complete Motion Capture (CMC) Service to remove the device's cool down period. Elevated805 if you have a micro sd card it should be able to continuously record...if it isn’t giving you the option you might have to restart your cam and app and go into setting and do it

MicroSD cards are key cut meaning they only go in one way. If you screw it up, it is because you forced something to fit where it shouldn't.

Correct! Once the microSD card is full, the camera will loop back and overwrite the oldest file on local storage. :)
