Interesting the Icom microphone actually works for functions. Have you tried it to transmit audio on the X-108G? If so, how well did it compare with the original mic that came with the X-108G? Thanks kindly and 73 John VK3TVZ

20 watts is not QRP like some people mention but guys ....hello !!! .... you can decrease the power settings to 5 watts which makes it a QRP radio ! I have an X108 myself and it is a great little rig ! Work it on CW 20 , 40 and 80 meters QRP ! Fun fun fun !

+truthseekers666 I can say that I do not have the problems that are described in the forums. Fortunately. My unit works perfectly. the S-meter display is a little low, otherwise all good

OK, den Empfänger empfinde ich ein wenig "taub" - im Vergleich zu meinen ICOM´s Ich habe deswegen immer den PreAMP eingeschalten. So zeigt z.b. der IC-7400 S9 an, der FT-817ND, S8 und der X-108 S2 ohne PreAMP an. Ob das bei allen Geräten wohl so ist? Nun ja...

Das Mikrofon ist übrigens nicht identisch mit dem für das IC-7000 und das nicht nur wegen der anders bedruckten Tasten. Wenn du das Mikro öffnest, steht auf der Platine HM-133 wie beim entsprechenden Icom Modell. Bei der ersten Serie, die ich noch habe, war die Beschaltung auch identisch, d.h., die PTT wurde über Mikroprozessor geschaltet und nicht über den PTT Schalter direkt. Die zweite Generation (2nd batch), die aktuell u.a. von Wimo ausgeliefert wird, hat eine etwas umgebaute Mikrofonschaltung mit angepaßter Firmware. Die PTT ist jetzt "hart" verdrahtet. Mit einem Icom Mikrofon (ohne Umbau) kannst du jetzt nicht mehr senden.

Stephan Lange Kein Problem :) Ein Icom HM-133 ist immer noch leicht umzubauen. Die Tastenbelegung sieht dann eben etwas anders aus.

20 watt sind aber keine qrp max 5 watt bei cw und 10 w ssb , aber ansonsten sehen die geräte dieses anbieters aus als hat man sich stark an icom gehalten hat - das mikro ist natürlich nicht voll nutzbar das ja mindestens 2m und 70 cm fehlen

5 watts is qrp when refering to cw, generally qrp is 12watts for ssb, this radio can be turned down to these levels whichever

Wattage is adjustable fro the front panel all the way from 0 watts up to 20 :-)

Also, QRP is not a fixed notion. 20 watts is a good deal less than the 100+ most rigs run barefoot. Maybe "low power" would clear up the confusion.

+n4ktz You really need to take Eham reviews with a grain of salt, I always research the people who give bad reviews on Eham and I have discovered that more often than not they are either appliance operators, idiots or newbees with little experience. Quite often the problems they are reporting is a result of their own illiteracy or a problem they created and quite often based on unrealistic expectations.
