X Ambassador's emotional track 'UNSTEADY’ perfectly underscores a couple at their breaking point. “UNSTEADY” speaks to everyone who's contemplated walking away from a love that may or may not be worth fighting for.
Pre production for this video took place prior to the horrific events in Orlando on June 12, 2016. Love brings joy and love brings pain. To love is to be brave, for to lose love is the greatest loss a human will ever know. To those lost in Orlando and to the loved ones who were left behind, we stand with you in strength and most importantly, in LOVE.
Q: What is this?
A: The Dance Video is the New Music Video. ARTIST REQUEST merges music artists with industry leading choreographers and dancers to create videos that captivate the new generation of music fans. This episode of ARTIST REQUEST was directed and edited by David Javier.
Q: Who brought this story to life?
A: Emmy-award winning choreographer and famed dancer Tyce Diorio is best known for his work with Janet Jackson, Paula Abdul, Jennifer Lopez, Ricky Martin, Taylor Swift and as a guest judge on the hit series “So You Think You Can Dance.”
Kent Boyd has been dancing since he was 8 years old. After graduating high school, Kent was featured on So You Think You Can Dance season 7, where he finished as runner-up. Since SYTYCD, Kent has been involved in many dance conventions, taught classes, and pursued a career in acting. He also started the clothing line Sugar & Bruno in 2011.
Coming from the San Francisco Bay Area, Will Johnston received the majority of his training at A.K.A Dance Company under the direction of Kelly and Alex Velasquez. Will holds an M.F.A. in Dance from the University of California: Irvine as well as a B.F.A in Dance Performance, a B.F.A in Dance Choreography, and a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering. Credits include Clear Talent, Sonya Tayeh, Stacey Tookey, Justin Giles, Erica Sobol, Donald McKayle, Loretta Livingston, Jodie Gates, Wade Robson, Tyce Diorio, Glee, Son Lux, and Sigur Ros. In addition, Will is the co-director of Entity Contemporary Dance and a faculty member at West Coast Dance Explosion, Murrieta Dance Project, and Chapman University. He has taught and choreographed across the United States, Canada, Singapore, Hong Kong, Indonesia, and Australia.
Q: Who are the X Ambassadors?
A: X Ambassadors is an Alt-Rock band hailing from Ithaca, NY. The band consists of 4 members:
Sam Harris (lead vocals, guitar, saxophone), Casey Harris (keyboard), Noah Feldshuh (guitar) and Adam Levin (drums). You may know them from their hits, "Unconsolable", "Jungle" and "Renegades". The band's debut full-length album “VHS,” was released on June 30, 2015. They list Incubus and Red Hot Chili Peppers as their major influences.

*To all those people who are confused, the guy in the black shirt is trying to push his partner away. See how he always catches his boyfriend whenever he dives at him or leans towards him shows that he is supportive of his partner but whenever the blonde guy is trying to get him to open up or the moment they get too close, the guy in the black shirt pushes him away. Which translates into trust issues and low self esteem which makes him think that his partner is better off without him (which happens in a lot of relationships) but they hug in the end and stay at the same table indicating that they made it through.*

The end table scene leaves a bad taste in my mouth. Like nothing was actually resolved- they’ll repeat the cycle. The black shirt guy just pulled away way too fast for any improvement..

@@dumbasheck4666 I know from being a part of LGBT community that he pushes his partner away because some people in society hate on them and if he's like me and self conscious and doesn't want any harm to befall his beloved. It's wrong but everyone is entitled to their own opinion. Some opinions cost others happiness.

I don’t think you have to be apart of the LGBT+ community to recognise the saddening, common truth about some queer relationships however there is no actual proof within the dance to suggest your idea- I do like it though. I just think the dance expresses a lot about trying open up and trusting, etc, just like within all relationships. I think it’s powerful when people use LGBT+ people to demonstrate ordinary/non restricted stories so that anyone can relate to them- not just other LGBTs. Helps people relate and become more aware of how similar everyone just is

That would be a difference in relationship. What the original post said was 'no difference between the love'. Your race, ethnicity, religion and gender don't influence how much you love someone or the bond that you share.

This is why I love two guys or two girls dancing together: there are no predetermined "roles" and both partners are equal. Come to think of it, that's also what I love about same sex relationships
@cecilevalmont3709
@cecilevalmont3709 5 жыл бұрын
I think we look at it the wrong way. In every relationship the partners are equal, we just need to find a balance. Also, preterditermined roles are disappearing because of the society changes and how we see each other As an example, I am attracted to "feminine" looking men, as a woman, which destroys the stereoptype. BUT THE DANCING WAS AMAZING!!!!!!!!!!

That's Kent Boyd, and he's the most amazing, and hilarious dance teacher in the world. Whenever him and Brooke are in the same room it creates this feeling that makes me laugh SO hard. Once Kent told us that Brooke was the weirdest and then everyone told Brooke that he said that. Then Kent walks in a few mins later and Brooke says, "They told me you said I was weirder? Is that true?" And Kent's face was so funny we all just burst out laughing. Then they had a "Battle of the Weird" it was so funny and you would've had to be there to know just how great it was.

I think the video speaks about the frustration of wanting to love someone but knowing you can't. And I think it portrays the inner struggle between both parties in the situation. Where the blond guy was the one desperately wanting to fix or achieve the love he desired while the other guy struggled with what his heart wanted and what his mind wanted. It was a beautiful depiction of love not about homosexuality

@KeroRDJ
@KeroRDJ 7 жыл бұрын
why, you're the one who made the music, or the video was made for you? I'm heterosexual, that doesn't mean I can't feel strongly in front of it. Your sexual preferences have nothing to do with anything here. Sorry if it comes harsh, but I'm tired of seeing people relate to videos or stuff because of their sexuality. You are bisexual SO you are honored ? it sounds like without your preferencies, this music and/or video wouldn't mean anything to you.
@zebraz9405
@zebraz9405 7 жыл бұрын
Actually this music and video can mean a lot to me. I have heard the song many times before this video. I can relate to it however I would like it is special to me and you have no place to tell me how it can't be. There is way more meaning then my sexuality for this song to me and I'm sorry if I affended you in anyway but, you need to calm down because that was so rude of you and, I am not saying you can't feel strongly about it I was talking about how the video is coming off to me and that is how I saw it! XxNicolexX _Miranda_ well if it came rude I'm sorry. you were indeed talking about yourself, wich obviously includes your personal experiences. It is your "so" that I didn't agree with, as if only a specific kind of person could feel honored in front of it. I realise this is not what you meant and that I expressed myself poorly, and I apologize for it

The true beauty of this piece is the small details that were hidden inside it.. Kent gazes, his eyes were begging for more from his partner, he followed every move with a counter.. The doubt of his partner fighting his deep love, this moment when he pushed him away then hugged his foot as apology and a message to stay. Those small details that make this piece totally distinguish.

I'm in a long distance relationship with someone. we're both trans (ftm) but he hasn't come out to his parents. He lives in a trans phobic house and everyday I'm terrified if he's ok. I just want to be there for him, and know he's ok. I want to wipe the tears away when he breaks down, tell him he's safe when he gets scared. I want to be able to just care for him. But I can't, and it tears me apart. At the end of the video when they're just holding each other, I lost it. To most people it seems normal, but to me it's something I fear I may never get to experience. To be able to be held in someone's arms that you love with all of your being, is truly a magical thing.

I have a very minor understanding of how you feel friend. My best friend if mtf (is that how you put it? I’m still trying to learn.) and she came out to me last year. I’ve been doing my best to support her, but she doesn’t live in the best house and her dysphoria paired with her other problems have driven her to terrible things. We can all make it through though. I believe it because I have to
