They are definitely special, no question in my mind! After BLACKPINK they were the second group that hooked me when I started venturing outside of listening to hip-hop/Metal and while BP was already a huge hit XG only had a few songs so I feel like I've had the pleasure of watching these young ladies grow and thrive and, yeah I love them. I don't know if you've watched my other XG videos but I can get pretty emotional about them haha! Anyway thank you for watching and for sharing, always thrilled to see other ALPHAZ!

@@ChainReactionsChannel Yes, it's also good to hear older male voices like yours in the fandom to help dislodge the pervasive idea that all older male fans are just lecherous fiends! I mean, sure, those fans exist (fuck em), but some of us are here for the music, the style, the journey, the swagger... Personally, the way I feel about XG for instance is with a more parental sense of pride, joy and hope.

I think you are so right. Although they are not native English speaker and they didn't write the lyrics...they DELIVERED it! That's the most important part. They absorbed it and made it their own thing. I also like they mix Rap + Chorus (RnB vocal? I don't know how you call that). Fast fast bridge then vocal. The contrast is great

Came from your reaction to their X-gene video. I really enjoyed your breakdowns. The thing about Cocona is they have yet to release the beast when it comes to her. IDK what they're waiting for. Maybe for her to become an adult, maybe for the next comeback or maybe they never will, IDK. If you watch the documentaries, in one of them she does Logic's "Homicide" and OMG, she kills it and she was only 13 yrs old at the time. I think we will see more of that inner beast in the future and I am so here for it.

All 4 members have different Rap styles. Simply put. Maya- Speed/Diction. Jurin- Lyricism/Technique and Spice. Harvey- High/Unique and Melody. Cocona- Cadence/flow and low/raspy.

I agree as well! Although Cocona has speed as well. She showed it off on an episode of Xtra Xtra. She did a fast rap and the song was Homicide by Logic ft Eminem. She killed it.

I totally agree. yes they were trained but the were trained to fine point flows cadences. wordplay to make it sound the way rap is suppose to spit. You can hear that they are fans of lyricist and how they use different flows n cadences but Cocona is just in another level. Imagine when Cocona speaks English like its her mother tongue she will level up again. I can tell shes limited with her verses.

I know they go for quality over quantity and that's why they don't miss but it's so good it makes me greedy haha! I would love that! Or at least another mini-album could come out without too much of a gap. Maybe with a different concept (though I wouldn't mind the same concept either). As for it being too short, I do wish it was longer just because in typical rap (I know XG isn't typical though) the artists have many more lines and more room to show off or say what they want to say. XG clearly goes for quality over quantity though and I absolutely appreciate that too. Thanks for being here!

Everyone (and me ) wants the song to be longer ,but consider how dense and sound packed that 90 sec was ! The layering, production, addlibs, lyrics , harmonies, cadences, rap tones , the intro to that breath at the end , it didn’t feel like 90 to me . Great insightful reaction !

Yes of course it was very high quality, don't get me wrong. Coming from a hip hop fandom background, I'm just used to rappers doing full verses you know?
