Yay! I've always thought Scully's worried face when Mulder says he wants to confess something spoke volumes of Scully's already deep feelings for her partner. Also, when she says "this is no place for an entomologist" is like saying Bambi's place is wherever but with Mulder. Jealous Scully is the best Scully

I am so glad you re-did this episode. I love the scene where Mulder wants to "confess" to Scully. She really doesn't want to hear the possibility of his digression but she can't tell her partner no. Her voice cracks and she tenses up. If CC really wanted us to bite on the "them just being platonic" BS he would have never inserted that scene. Telling her she smells bad is just another of Mulder's boyish self-deprecation towards her. I also enjoyed the scene of Mulder calling her in the middle of the night. Her parents being "naturalists" and him standing in nothing but a pair of boxers is cute.

He also likes to portray Mulder and Scully in a more human, fallible light, so seeing them being petty here is just amazing. "You smell bad. " Yeah, because Mulder wasn't also covered in manure or something. Such a great line.

Great review. I used to think the Scully jealousy in this episode was cute but now I don't like it so much because the writers made her so triggered over Bambi. I don't love they made her come off so insecure about it. She gets this way when any woman is around him. We all KNOW why but I don't love that direction with the writing. I mean it's cute for the MSR I guess but damn c'mon.

I think a lot of it was also a result of not knowing how Mulder felt. In the episode Syzygy, you can see how jealous she is there as well because it's hard for her to hide her feelings. Honestly, the only people not to realize they were in love with each other were them. I think Skinner secretly shipped them and was involved in the office pool.

Skinner definitely knew something was up before they did. Remember 4-10 Terma, when Mulder appears at the court room and hugs Scully for a bit longer than Skinner thinks is appropriate and he says "Some other time" to them? Phew!

On this episode now! The one thing that sticks out to me is the use of the ring light when examining the cockroach. It's blasting in their faces instead of the specimen. I do love the other side we see of Scully though!

I watched this episode again and got the impression that Mulder became interested in Dr. Bambi because she's scientist and smart like Scully, but more open to unconventional ideas. I wondered if that wasn't the reason he waited so long to take the initiative with Scully, because he certainly already liked her, but many times he feels frustrated with her skepticism (even after they have experienced so much together). I don't know, it's not a certainty, i’m just reflect. I don't like this episode because I don't like seeing Mulder flirting with other women 💔, but on the other hand, I understand him. I am irritated sometimes by Scully's skepticism. there are some cases, that if he only listened to her arguments, there would be more victims 😅

It might have been hallucinations.,but many people don 't hallucinate about Cockroaches at the same place and almost the same time on the same day. Someone extremely evil/malicious gave them a drug or something else to cause them to have the same body problem.
