The more I get older, the more I realize how precious this is. It's such a small act but it pays huge dividends in terms of upholding the true nature of a culture emphasizing respect and your place in a community. It is rare to see this, if at all in the U.S. and makes me wonder why I put up with the culture here. I'm ashamed of what the U.S. has become and I can't wait to move to Japan one day.

Thank you @@sougougyoutoku Actually I'm Japanese American and I lived in Hachinohe in Aomori prefecture over 30 years ago. I remember even as a chu-gaku sei I saw this type of formality there but, you're right, I also visited Tokyo a handful of times and people don't act like this really. I hope to one day go back and live in rural Japan! Thank you for an inspiring video.

Hachinohe is also a splended place to live isn't it (*^-^)b. It must have been easy to live in that area because everyone was nice. I wonder you've spoken quite a bit of Japanese with a Tohoku accent, haven't you at that time (^x^;)?

@@sougougyoutoku so I moved there when I was 12 years old and I couldn't speak Japanese well. I only stayed for a year. Actually I can't speak well now either which I regret! But it was definitely quieter and peaceful than Tokyo. Yes, I also remember the accent up there. It was hard to understand sometimes haha. But I have good memories like going to the Nebuta Matsuri.

Over forty-five years ago, I learned in a high school social studies class, that Japan has no tourism resources, so it can never become a tourism country, because no one comes to Japan only for Mt.Fuji. The times have changed (;^_^A .

I very glad you are safe . because in few day ago , when your country of 🇯🇵 was afraid about the typhoon and the weather is heavily happen include wind and rain. In this result , the people was totally fine and but some building or the land (etc: rice paddy) was destroyed(I'm always watch the news of japan about the weather update😂).Hopefully it will be fixed well ASAP. I hope the whole country are safe and peace moment in future🙏🙏🙏
