Agreed, I was born in the late 1970s and as I said below I had at best no emotional attachment to China at all, when travelling to Beijing, Nanjing, Suzhou, Hangzhou in 86 when I was 8. I’m sorry but China is not my country. My school friends are all the same - none of them go to China unless “we” have to go there for work! (Chinese:完全同意。正如我下面另一留言講咗,我是70年代尾出生,8歲去中國北京,南京,蘇州,杭州旅遊,頂多「最好」就是中國不是自己的國家這種感覺。我的小學同學朋友都係:長大了我們不會自願前去中國,除非係公幹出差或者工作地點是中國。)

Parents took my bro and me backpacking to 鄭州 in early 80s... thanks you guys bring back so much memories; People back then was totally diff from now, all ppl and society was so open-minded and thirst for new info from outside... totally in love with them back then. So sad nowadays, seems going backward
It was the 1989 Tiananman massacre that I have drawn my line with China esp the CCP. I was only 10 and I think the only time I had visited China after the Tiananman massacre was a short family overnight trip to Shenzhen in 1990, and nothing since.
