Storm’s power is actually kind of fascinating. It’s a mutation, but it isn’t just weather control. What it seems to have done is turn her into an actual Nature Goddess. She can derive power from genuine prayer and belief that allows her to fight on the same level as comic book Thor and even take control of his lightning away from him.

Yes, yes, YES!!! Every single time Storm uses her powers - there is this bombastic echo, much like a high-pitched auto tune to her vocal registry. When a God or Goddess (like in her case) uses their abilities, this effect is perfectly acceptable in my eyes. This storm is dark-skinned (as she should be). She doesn't become weak or infirm when the use of her powers is actuated! She is authoritative, calm, and very much so a tactician when needing to use her gifts. Heating up the sand - turning it into shards of glass - whilst using the high density tornadic winds to tear asunder the sentinels piece by piece is ingenious! This is the version of Storm, us comic book nerds grew up falling in love with! ❤️ No more nerfing when it comes to her abilities! LOL!!! Fuck.

So I haven't watched the show yet, but I've seen this clip several times and I get chills 😅 This gonna be good once I have time to watch it. Honestly I wish this was at a movie theater for like a week where you could watch 4 episodes b2b a intermission after the 2nd episode. The next day you get the next batch and so on. Or have 2 blocks where you get 8 episodes in 1 day so they could easily batch 16 episodes in one week

Yea a lot of the first X-men were. Like obviously Jean and Bobby. You’re only considered omega level when you can alter the world, universe, or a concept. At once point Scott was considered omega level because of his optic blasts not Bein suppressed. I think a lot of mutants are actually suppressed once they let Charles into their heads. He’s actually pretty messed up sometimes

Why do movies make powerful mutants look weak?

Depends on the writer, the plot and on the budget. If powerful characters always did crazy feats like this then other characters lose relevance and stakes become wildly reduced, in Storms case it could be argued that she normally doesn't do this because of how much collateral damage this would cause in a populated area like a city or town, however in numerous cases it is just writers trying to make a scene play out a certain way or give a different hero an empowering moment.
