I always used Nightcrawler on this level. Teleport through walls to the elevator. Wait until mutant power regenerates. Then face Apocalypse by using Nightcrawlers ability by just sitting there while he tries and hits you.

I will never forget I could never get passed Mono stage for months. I mastered this game up until that point. I got so made one day I rage reset and saw the 01010101 screen and though I broke my Genesis until the next stage unlocked. Forever one of my favorite games of all time.

Was the biggest bullcrap of my gaming life. I thought the game was just bugged and unbeatable until I read about the reset button as an adult. Made it to that computer room a million times as a kid, and the apocalypse ending for playing on easy didn't help the theory.

I never got passed that either after beating Mojo. I thought it had to be a specific X-Men to beat it so I cycled thru all of them 10x and even tried timing it as the screen coloured changed. It one of the most frustrating gaming events of my life.

This game was so hard and had creepy depressing music. Mojo destruction level was so creepy and scary level and music; and it stressed you even more cuz of time limit. I never knew how to beat Magneto he seemed impossible to beat. It was really cool how they added the reset button to the game.

I'll always remember accidently finding the secret to progress in this game!! I got all the way to Mojo and beat him. I thought "yeah yeah, Xavier is gonna whine about the computer or whatever, then the time runs out and I die! Whatever! Anyway, I'm going to restart and this time play as..." and when I just tapped the reset button, I got the weird "error" and moved on to the next level!! Amazing!!!

What does apocalypse usually do? It seems like you’re faking a jump over him to get him to shoot straight up. If you weren’t doing that does he instead shoot a beam straight at you?

"Yeah, that part was so frustrating! I remember being stuck on that level for ages, too. It was such an unconventional puzzle, especially before the days of the internet where you could easily look up a solution. It's crazy to think about how many people had to figure that out on their own. Definitely one of the most memorable (and maddening) parts of the game.

This is not the way, I remember the fight and I played this game to death. Immediately after powering up he walks up and strikes you. Easiest way to defeat him was to use Nightcrawler and teleport on the spot whenever he attacked. Weird video, almost looks like a hack
