To be fair, Capcom already embraced a bunch of stereotypes in Street Fighter so they might have been one of the few that would choose a character who could be a bad stereotype within a small cast of characters.

Dude, you got it all wrong. Capcom did not create him. He is Kenuichio Harada, aka the Silver Samurai, and he had been appearing in Marvel comics for decades before appearing in CotA, namely Daredevil and X-Men comics. He even appeared in The Wolverine movie. So, actually, it was Marvel's failings and stereotypical character conceptualization, not Capcom's😂

For COTA to fill the villian side of the roster(Besides the bosses ) I think it's funny they chose the villians with the most japanese appeal ..... Literal Samurai ..... Six armed woman , but still wearing a Samurai looking Helmet and wields six swords ..... Giant Mecha Robot ..... and ummmm ... guy with Tentacles .... (Later confirmed again in the sequel by chosing Shuma Gorath )
