Yordano Ventura (Former Ace on the Kansas City Royals pitching staff and one the most talented young players in the MLB) passed away in a car accident in the Dominican Republic at the age of 24, just 6 weeks after the Royals won the World Series, and I remember the news coverage of the story lasted about a day. It’s shocking how quickly society can move on from tragic events nowadays. Kansas City as a MLB franchise still hasn’t rebounded from Ventura’s death, and neither has the city. (I was born and raised in KC and still live in the area) Not the same situation, obviously, but I understand completely where Roxy is coming from. Big Papi inspired a whole generation of young athletes (Including Yordano Ventura) and any attempt on his life should be covered in depth for more than 48 hours.

David Ortiz shooting happened late night (central time). When I got to the gym at 5 am, it was all over the news channels. From cnn to espn. Even good morning america covered it. CNN kept playing the shooting over and over. ESPN was posting twitter reactions from players who was wishing david good wishes, notably pedro martinez. It was a huge news story in a slow news week, of course every body covered it and he was TRENDING as well. But he was fine, and was recovering in ER. So after a day, of course news outlets moved onto something else.

I don't know why they would be worried to have the X Men in the MCU just because of Dark Phoenix. There is one big difference and that is Kevin Feige will be overseeing the X Men in the MCU. So if you don't have any confidence in him by now then you haven't been watching the MCU movies. He has PROVEN that he knows what to do with the comic book properties.

felt bad for her when they started laughing about the temperature reading. She's right, the temperature reading on her dash is from a sensor meant to gauge the temperature outside, not what the temperature is inside of the car. Yes, it's never accurate.. it almost always reads incorrectly, because of the heat off the pavement and the heat caused by the warm tires that are heating up the road; it's just never accurate. But that's what its for. It almost seemed like the guys are under the impression that the temperature reading is for telling you what the inside of your car is. It's not.. otherwise it would go way down once you got the AC going.

@Cullenprime5 жыл бұрын
Feige has already said that it will be 5 years or more before the X-Men are introduced into the MCU.
@jparks34225 жыл бұрын
I would much rather see a MCU Fantastic Four movie before a X-Men one. The reason being that there is no need for integrating the Fantastic Four into the MCU. Marvel can just make a origin movie that introduces them into the MCU. Where as with the X-Men, there is the entire world and history of Mutant kind and the X-Men (both as a group and all the individual back stories) to integrate into the MCU some how. Which I can't think of any way that they can do that, at least not well. I just hope that it is not the theory that three snaps on earth caused enough gamma radiation that it created mutants and the x gene. Or that the three snaps caused a tear in the multiverse and the X-Men and bunch of other mutants enter the MCU that way. Both of those theories would completely ignore the history of Mutants,the X-Men, and the racism toward mutants by humans that make up that property and make it so rich and full.
@KillerChickn5 жыл бұрын
X-Men coming from another reality does not ignore the history of Mutants, it still all happened in their universe. Secondly, it isn't racism. Mutants are literally not Human. It's more like speciesism. Third, it is very simple to knock out multiple birds with one stone if they do the Eternals/Celestials properly. In one of the newer retellings of the Celestials, all life on Earth was created by a dead Celestial's blood and fluids spreading across the Earth. This includes Eternals, Deviants, Humans and mutants. Eternals/Deviants are mutants. Titans are Eternals who left Earth and went to live on Titan. Thanos is an Eternal with a Deviant gene that makes him look Deviant. That's why he's purple and has a wrinkly ballsack chin, that's essentially what Deviants look like. It would be nice to see a mutant retelling.

**Xmen MCU Potential Pilot Film** So here is an idea for how Disney should launch the new Xmen universe in a few years. I would go the very understated & low budget route focusing on 2 primary characters. This would be a good way to avoid recycling the same Prof X, Magneto, Wolverine & First Class origin formula of earlier films. The film takes place in early 80s Caldecott County, Miss. A young preteen girl named Anna is discovering she is very different from her peers. She confirms this after trying to demonstrate her attraction to a school crush. Fast forward about a decade later after leaving home after her terrifying discovery, shes been on the run state to state. She is fearful of physical contact so she is an introvert obviously. Cut to Louisiana where a young couple are dealing with similar challenges as mutants. A young man & his wife Bella have lots of problems due to his womanizing & her own violent mood swings leading to her to forcibly remove him from their swampy homestead. Of course he meets up with Anna due to a mutual run in with Carol Danvers while the latter is attempting to stop a heist at a government lab headed by the mans estranged wife Bella. Anna absorbs Carol's abilities & ends up on the run with this man who goes by the name Gambit. Eventually they begin a relationship as close to the vest as possible without leaving Gambit in a coma. They do have to address his estranged wife Bellas jealous rage which nearly kills both before they even consider consummating their relationship. The film ends with both going their separate ways where Gambit joins up with Danvers after she attempts to recruit Anna to join recognizing the power this young woman possesses. Anna goes rogue & heads off on other adventures but the two are destined to meet again down the road. We can call it Rogue.

blackrock316 sure, Venom made most of its money overseas but Dark Phoenix would kill to have 200 million domestic. Then there’s Shazam. Didn’t crack 400 and it’s a great movie. Dark Phoenix is not a June movie. November would have actually worked better. That and a higher RT score.

@@jackdennis3511 here's the issue with Shazam, while I love the movie I can see why not a lot of people went to see that movie. I was talking to some people on twitter and it was very interesting that the trailers to them looked like the movie was either too silly or felt like a parody so people instead of spending money on shazam, saved it for Endgame. also even though good word of mouth came out for shazam, it wasn't enough to get people in theater
