The writing, characterisation and performance by Tatum in the Deadpool movie is 100% the the way it should always have been done.

oof these comments do not pass the vibe check. Do I like Taylor or Channing, tbh I'm not a fan of either. I'm just a Gambit fan, they did the best they could with what they were given. This is why I like Taylor to be the MCUs Gambit over Tatum. His level of physicality is next level as compared to the stunt training that I saw with Tatum on the internet for Deadpool & Wolverine. Even if he's older now (but looks the same), he is still the comic-accurate Gambit visual for the live-action. If he could only add the Cajun accent to that (perhaps hire a dialect coach), and wear the same costume as Tatum's, he's the perfect one to play it in MCU.

@kccentrale8589 He feels too much like someone pretending to be Gambit. While I feel Tatum was more natural and nailed the accent. As well as having the look, and a bit of the attitude. Some of the jokes didn't feel too Gambit, but Tatum didn't write his dialog.
@kccentrale85893 ай бұрын
@@heavy5013 Both films had different takes on the character but weren’t able to capture both in one actor. Taylor had the potential because with the lack of heavy CGIs, it focused on the actor’s ability to move. Fox Marvel characters are not often visually comic accurate unlike in the MCU.
@heavy50133 ай бұрын
@kccentrale8589 Origins was Fox. And there wasn't much CGI on Tatum's Gambit from what I remember, just his power. And Tatum already knew how to throw cards as stated in interviews. He was big into Gambit as a kid, and like Ryan Reynolds with Deadpool, has been trying to get into the role for years. And was a standout in Deadpool and Wolverine. Holding his own in performance against multiple legacy marvel actors.

This Gambit is the best, his cameo would be sick in "Deadpool and Wolverine". I don't understand why they chose that Tatum guy to play the role. And yes, a movie about this Gambit would be very cool. Tatum's version of this character looks goofy and stupid, not badass like this one.
@kccentrale85893 ай бұрын
@@akavir_rivakaIt's just Reynold's version of Gambit that's why the tone of the character is totally different. This one is more comic-accurate--only missing the correct suit and Cajun accent which they nailed in Deadpool & Wolverine.

It's funny how they spend so much time explaining how much work they put into scenes that are completely wrong. Gambit doesn't levitate playing cards or blow up streets with his staff.
@kibuki913 ай бұрын
Tbf he's capable of both. Gambit at higher levels can even stop someone from moving entirely. As far as the "levitating cards" he's not really levitating them, it's just an exaggerated card trick and he charges the cards while the opponent is distracted by said card trick. There's even videos of magicians doing these same card tricks on camera and there's tutorials on how to do it yourself.
