Just came across this show. AWESOME. I lost my dad a few weeks ago and so wish I would have found it before he passed so we could have talked about him listening too this show when he was a kid. I'm convinced he would have listened to it .

Great episode. It must have been a wonderful thing for a kid in the 50s listening to shows like this on the radio. Thanks for sharing these priceless radio shows. Not much made today compares... even with all the fx, cgi and multi million dollar film budgets.

Beginning at around 16:52, the time travelling main character states that after college he had spent (will spend) seven years as a reporter on The Philadelphia Record. The character is speaking as a 13-year old in 1945. The Philadelphia Record folded in 1947. Therefore, I conclude that this production was written between late 1945 to sometime in 1947. If it had been written after the Record ceased publication, then this would have been an egregious research mistake. I think it is more likely that the writer(s) were simply poor judges of journalistic viability while projecting the future. Nevertheless, a very enjoyable soft SF tale! I enjoyed it very much.

As often as Greg plays these shows on XM's Radio Classics I've become an aficionado of X-Minus 1 and Dimension X; not to even mention a slew of other programs. How tremendous is it that these shows survive? Here I can find the programs my parents listened to when they were children and young adults. Fantastic!

I was born in 1980 and in 2014 I was introduced to x -1 and dimension X radio shows. They captured my heart and Imagination and introduced me to the rest of this Broad and vest wonderful genre of entertainment. Nothing Compares on television now and I continuously discover new programs and have Falling in Love with my drives in the car because I always listen 2 a great show. Old time radio has definitely made my road trips and commutes more enjoyable.

I have said this many times, as have many others - that these old time radio shows and stories seem far superior to most of the crap today - they only had the medium of sound and imagination to work with for one thing, but , also there was a lot of gripping concepts and narrative that for some reason is just not seen [or heard] today. Some of the most mind blowing stories I've ever heard to date, came from these old time stories. Thanx for uploading them. I'm glad to have access to them.

In response to to the blurb about X-1 being cancelled in '58 and it's subsequent attempt to revive it, I feel this is sad in some ways, but, there are too many factors which contribute to this phenomenon of artistic/media obsolescence to mention here, however I feel that the temporary "death' of some shows, ie, Star Trek, only adds to the nostalgic appreciation of them, hence their revival, in their original form, years later can be phenomenal. Sometimes the "old' can be surprisingly - Fresh!

I originally discovered this on WBAI two weeks ago. I love these stories. If anyone is interested check out Octavia Butler (killer Sci-Fi) author. Thanks for the post.
