樂曲原為山東、河南、河北等地的民間樂曲。曲子以熱情歡快的旋律與百鳥和鳴之聲，表現了生機勃勃的大自然景象。原曲在中國民間演奏時，藝人們多為即興發揮，更加入了公雞啼母雞叫的聲音。編曲者根據任同祥演奏版本，加入了百鳥朝鳳的傳說故事，擴展了樂曲的篇幅，以兩支嗩吶領奏與樂團的協奏，使全曲更具有趣味性。尾聲百鳥朝鳳、百鳥齊鳴，氣氛熱烈歡騰。

This piece originates from the folk music of Shandong, Henan and Hebei provinces. The cheerful
melodies of birds chirping and singing cheerful melodies illustrate the lively scene of nature.
When the original piece is performed in Chinese folk performances, the performers will usually
improvise and incorporate the sounds of rooster crowing and hens clucking. Based on the version
of Ren Tongxiang’s performance, the re-arranger Simon Kong Su Leong added the folk tale,
The Courtship of the Queen, to lengthen the piece, with double suona and orchestra, thus enhancing its appeal. With the cacophony of a hundreds of birds singing cheerful melodies while adoring a phoenix, it produces a jubilant atmosphere.
