99 years lease is so scheming.. they know for a fact nobody is going to live past 120 YO and every generation will have to plan for themselves. yeah sg government housing is affordable, it's a system to perpetually suck money out from middle income group. enbloc and sell another 99 years rinse repeat. cannot afford yet? no problem, take loan lor. so forever in debt paying more than the cost of the house eventually

So many balance flat unit cheap and good. If u can't afford to pick those $1mil Bishan flat, just get on life and stay. U never know. Start small. Know your scope.
There are a good % of ppl who divorce and ended up living in 1 room rental flat. Life is not a bed of roses and things can crop up such as unexpected health crisis such as cancer, stroke. Or major accident retrenchment etc.

Singapore’s HDB flats are very expensive considering the size and remaining lease. Period. No ifs or buts..
Admittedly houses are getting expensive. But come to think about it, which generation or era have it easy or can say their house are cheap ? With so many help from govt, still cannot afford? Try living in HK or elsewhere. Pls lah, learn to count your blessings.
hello, if no money, can buy hdb 2 rooms and ok location. if you want big and good location, you can ask the owner sell you cheap. But if you're the owner, will you??? moreover, Singapore is so small but with good public transport service, stay anywhere also same. unlike Malaysia, even JB, sometimes don't know when the bus will come to KSL city mall.

@@yeochenyi1388 look at it this way, the “owner” is paying rental upfront for 99 years. As the “owner”, you can transfer the “rental contract” to someone else by “selling” it to get back some of your money (either at profit or loss, depending on the market conditions). If you truly own something, no one can force you to destroy it after some X amount of time. Can you (sell it and) get back your original paid price after living it in for 99 years? Definitely not! Yes it is “ownership” in theory and on paper but for all practical purposes it is a rental concept.
If we don't consider other factors such as location, bto at non-mature areas are still quite affordable. But of course, everyone wish for cheap price at good locations, however, when it's too cheap then people will concern about the condition of the house or the market 😂
