I used to live in Happy Valley too! I remember when my aunt got her driving licence there, the main road up to wong nai Chung was like at a 45 degree angle and she had to turn almost 180 degrees to the left 😂

In US, after passing the written test, we only need a person who had a year or longer driver license sit next to you when practice driving. We don't need auto instructor. It costs me just the document fees to get the driver license in the states.

Everything she said is true 💯 i failed my writing exam 3 times first time didn’t care. second time went late, must be 15min earlier i was there exact time. Third time failed i passed fourth time. I joined HKSM hong kong driving school which cost me 11k with all the packages. They told me Chinese new year special package discount 😂 lol! I did manual transmission MT i failed twice, to redo the exam cost me 6k each time. Exams fees are not included need to pay extra for it. Also need to pay for learner license if expired separately. I suggest people to get AT auto transmission licenses which so much easier than MT.

Nice for a second-hand car. My daughter also drives a second-hand convertible. The first-hand owner was yours truly. I'm glad I don't have problems with parking here in the US. All the parking lots are very spacious.

I guess you’ve made an mistake, currently all 師傅 is around 250-280/45 mins, generally students will have 2 sessions each lesson which is 1h30mins and $550 each class. It usually doesn’t go up to 20k unless u got a lot resit…

Lol getting a driver's license is such a big deal in Hong Kong, I got my license in the state with only 2 hours of instructions/practice from my friends, no formal lessons and a few hours of studying the driving guidelines. It was a piece of cake.

@@rayray6548 Well, logically you can say that, but in fact when everyone really follows rules and have the correct mindset then the environment really doesn't entertain bad driving habits and drivers. I have the rights to say that because I've drove in the US for almost 8 years, in Canada 2 years, in Hong Kong 7 years, in Mainland China 5 years. I have drove and compared these places and came to find out what really makes bad drivers, it's not the examination but the mindset of everyone on the road. Take Mainland China as an example, It take the same effort as Hong Kong to get a driver license in the mainland but everyone drives like a maniac, so you wanna be the good driver? I'll be sorry for you. In contrast, it takes little effort to get a DL in the US, while everyone have really good practices which create a rather good driving environment that seldom create bad drivers. Hong Kong has a rather good driving environment as well, people follows rules and respect each other, but it takes so much more effort to get a DL than in the US. I understands that HK has narrower and a more complex road system than most cities, but I still think getting a DL is such a big deal in HK, it's more of a cultural thing I guess. BTW, I am a local born HK guy, brought up in HK, but I first got my DL in the US. Oh, and all these years, I've not had a single accident on the road.

I passed my knowledge test in April 2019 in bc Canada. In bc, you have to practice your driving skills and wait at least one before you can schedule your first road test. My original road test was scheduled in April 2020, and it got cancelled and rescheduled to August. I passed my road test on my first try and I could drive without supervisor next to me, but I have to take another road test two years after the first road test, to be eligible to ride more than one person
