I know the place very well as I used this as a short cut to Babington Path in the 60s to early 70s. There’s a narrow alleyway that linked up St Stephens Path to Babington Path. As a boy I really dread walking down this alleyway as it was dark & narrow. I had a walkabout last November & the alleyway is still there, but a lot brighter as it is sandwiched between two blocks of flat. Do you know in the early colonial days Caine Road & Bonham Road marked the upper limit where Chinese could live. Above that was reserved for the whites.

想睇般咸道官立小學，坐雙層巴士上層就好好睇。因為呢條係我小朋友返學必經之路，所以每日都撘，每一次行過般官都會望一望，因為入面真係好靚，樓底好高，喺入面教書讀書應該會好開心。 p.s. 第一次睇你嘅channel， 好鍾意你介紹建築嘅風格，支持支持！

Miss Jenn: 聖士提反里，共和台上有五座建築物分別為(由左至右)8號，9號，10號，11號12號。最早在六零年初拆建為十二號。共和台五座建築物正門前都有一個小花園，樓房貫通前門聖士提反里和巴炳頓道。我四零年代在共和台居住至六九年，見證一段美好的回憶。

妳好, Miss Jenn 以前成條般咸道大部分都係如35號的住宅，臨街方向係大陽台，對面係寧養臺。 如果一直往英皇書院方向走去,有一幢面向般含道側邊係西邊街的黄色外墻大宅余宅。 同余宅相隔有一條長長後路可直通正街，這條露天通道亦是該段般含道住宅的另一個出口即後門。而這種通道亦係港島西半山山城的特色! 其實，由香港大學至般含道往堅道方向走去，會經過一條私家街興漢道, 在70年前仍然有人打更的呢! 60年代時有環島步行比賽，當時係盛事，我們會在附近等待為健兒打氣歡呼😊呢！

原來興漢道曾有人打更！興漢道都起了新樓，石梯都重新修葺過了。

是的, 石階可以上落去到😮薄扶林道。這條石階以前有一條小水渠的。 其實興漢道盡頭亦有另一條石階可以上般含道，旁邊剛好是英皇書院。 興漢道亦曾住在數位名人呢！
