@@Ktsquare2008 true. it's a tough issue to solve. the HK gov has already done much to help. If the allowance is enough to make ends meet, that's as good as it can get. My point is, if you always need to ask for help to sustain life, that's already put you in an inferior position. With hardwork and knowledge you can achieve great things. And knowledge is mostly free already if you have access to the internet. so your action now directly dictate your future. and that's the type of mindset I'd pass on to my kid.

@@KaYungCalebLai Sir. I was expressing generally. Staying cleared with neutrality. Sir
Honestly, volunteers need to start creating KZbin content dedicated to helping kids with their studies. They have that in English, Hong Kong can create Cantonese version to teach math, English, history, etc. It can be done for different grades. This would help provide support they would not otherwise have. It would be great if educators and sponsors could put something together for these children.

unfortunately, a lot don't even have computers nvm internet access...not sure if they could use them freely at the library

@@lisatam you are right, but I hope one day there can be a program where educated hong kong or china people volunteer their time to help the poor like tutoring the young children
People here mostly commented on the lady shouldn't have gave birth if her economic situation is not good enough. Somehow it's true. But somehow she might also want to have her next generation to take care well of her in one day. In Asian society, going to tutorial class is like a mandatory for everyone. There are actually lots of ways to get the knowledge, simply asking your teacher. It all depends your passion to learn, and ask.
"What is he/she like?" is asking the personality, character of that person, not the appearance.

Agreed. The way she explained it is not entirely inaccurate though, because you could compare it to someone - e.g. "my best friend is Pete. He is like a brother to me." So it all kind of works out....

She is just an older teenage girl attending a community college to get her associate degree, not even a bachelor's degree. Please she is a volunteer. Cut her some slack.
I am utterly shocked by the fact that some people who assert that individuals of low social-economic backgrounds do not deserve having children. You are not in their position, you don’t get to judge.
@al32204 жыл бұрын
Judgement aside. It's a sad reality that the widening gap between wealth "classes" in Hong Kong is creating circumstances that are cost-prohibitive to bear even one child.

its sad, i seen this a lot in Hong Kong they bow to the Rich and Kick the poor.
@JellyChang4 жыл бұрын
Why is that shocking? On the other hand, is it fair for that poor child to be living in a condition like this cause her parents think it is okay for them to have a child even though they are so poor? They are just continuing this vicious cycle by giving birth to a child and they can't afford to have proper education for her and thus lessen her chance of getting higher education and landing a good job in the future. You could well argue that she still has a chance but she will need to work 10x or even 100x harder to get there, is that still fair?
@jianzhao84704 жыл бұрын
@@JellyChang are you telling me that people living in poverty have no right of having offsprings? It is not an ideal situation, but this is basic human rights, whether it is a good or bad decision individually. With your argument, population in a lot of third world countries will be wiped off.
